The one I received is smooth, even at the seams, and feels very solid and heavy for it's size. Nice shine, but not fake shiney. It's a little small for my Bialetti 6 cup espresso maker, but works just fine anyways. I'll be passing it down to my grandkids in 30 some years!

I bought a low-end espresso machine at a deep discount, and it came with a plastic spoon/tamper that I used for 3 months, reluctant to spend a lot of money (as I know making good espresso at home can get very expensive very quickly.) This is an excellent solution to my plastic problem. The smaller end of the tamper fits perfectly, and the size and weight just feel good when pressing down. I have medium-sized girl hands, and I like the how easy it is to apply pressure with my palm on the flat surface versus rounded knobs on other tampers. I was exceptionally pleased with this purchase, especially for the price.

Great Buy! the smaller size fits my espresso machine. It's hard to measure the area, I measured 51 mm, so I'm glad I just assumed that smaller would be better (the 48mm works for mine).

It’s metal. It’s correctly shaped for the task it is designed for. It’s silver. It serves a single purpose. I suppose it could act as a paperweight, so long as you aren’t in a particularly bad weather situation. Or a wind tunnel. Could you use it to crack walnuts? Sure. But a rock would work just as well. Why would you buy this for walnut cracking anyway? They already have something for that. It’s called a nut cracker. Do not eat this product. That’s not what it is for. This product is not designed to be substituted for a regulation sized basketball according to the official NBA website. It is non-flammable, free range, gluten free and non-GMO. If swelling occurs, please stop using immediately and consult your physician.

It fits perfectly. It’s not a cheap product. There is no sharp places on it nowhere. I have arthritis and I can grip it better than the one that came with my mocha machine. It’s easy to clean I just whip it off with a paper towel.

This tamper was solid, heavy and perfect for my needs. Taking those measurements to insure I received the right one, really helped. Completely satisfied and use it everyday.

i like it-- works well and seems good value. has a good tactile feel and wide surface for tamping. its wide at both ends making it easy to push down w/ palm or hand... i haven't tried to run it through the dishwasher or do more than wipe it off but... the photos other share look like any number of alumiinum things i've accidentally run through the diswasher. i will update if suddenly this starts to disentegrate but... otherwise-- this seems like a keeper and nice kitchen utenxil

Such a simple item, yet I couldn't start my day without. Has worked like a charm as an integral part of my morning routine. Glad that I saw it and got it!

If you are not looking for something really fancy and just want a nice functional coffee tamper. This is the thing for you. I was expecting it to be heavier than it is, super ergonomical and easy to use!
