For the q acoustics 3020i - what kind of connectors should i get? do i also need to buy wire?

You will need speaker wire, you don’t need connectors the speaker wire can be attached directly to the speaker

will these American spec speakers work for an European spec amp that operates on 220v?

Yes they will...any amp that supports 8 ohm speakers should work

Can you put these on their side and not affect sound?

Sure can put speakers on there sides.. I have one upright and one on side because of space.. and they sound amazing.. highly recommended
