We had a small cooler that used the car battery for power, but once we were out of the car (ie in a motel) it no longer ran. A friend had a similar, larger cooler with a power adapter, so I researched adapters and found this one, at 5 amps, was perfect for our small cooler. [Be sure to check the amps needed for your cooler as there are different amp sizes of coolers and adapters and you want them to be compatible.] It works fine and we use it to chill the cooler ahead of packing it, either at home or in a motel room. The only issues I would mention are: 1) my adapter tends to get quite warm when running, so I'm careful where I lay it (usually on top of the cooler) when running and until it cools down after unplugging. 2) the connection to our cooler cord is not a secure fit, so I have to twist it around till it starts running then lay the adapter down carefully, with no tension on the cord connections. Consequently I cannot plug it in and let it hang from the outlet or it will pull apart. This could be specific to our cooler cord, so may not be a universal issue. Overall it is a handy, reasonably priced item that has added usefulness to our traveling with a cooler and, yay! no more messy ice to deal with!

Got this to allow me to use the electric cooling play mate cooler indoors..also had to order the adaptor that attaches cooler to cigarette lighter in car Both ordered from Amazon..both items work well with. A cooler..cord has ample length.. excellent power source for cooler

1st, the cord works on my elec ice chest. But, I contacted the seller to find out if this was the correct replacement (it was different from the original). They sent an auto reply that they'd get back to me soon, but they never did. So I decided to try it anyway. Luckily the item works and I'm happy with it. But if you have a problem, don't expect help from this seller.

Works great, can pre chill the Wagan cooler in the house for the ar trip.

Fit fine, great length

Got this option to fit my plug-in cooler I keep in my trunk. Though I use the standard cooler's cigarette lighter adapter style chord in the vehicle, as my suv did not have normal plug, it's nice to bring the cooler in, plugging in to my home wall outlet with this adapter and not have to keep moving things in and out of it having a second backup plug that kept my cooler ready to go in my car or my bedroom.

This adapter seems to be a nice quality item. Although it does get very warm while in use. It says in the description that it is perfect for coolers that are coolers / heaters. Which is what I am using it for. That's why I don't understand why it gets as warm as it does. Because I am using it specifically for what it is made for. But it seems to work fine I just feel like I always have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't get too warm and melt or start a fire. Definitely do not leave it unattended.
