The good wife is a masterpiece that captures the moral dilemmas that surround professionals in the 21st century work environment. There is a clear understanding of right and wrong. There is conscience that desires to do what is considered "right". However the complexity of individual's lives and themultifaceted circumstances that can arise make black and white decisions less evident, as well as less honest at times.There is a search for the return of a simpler morale format when religion determined strict guidelines for right and wrong. Yetreligion, although ardently grasped by several of the main characters shows us a side of faith that can be deemed as brainwashing, as witnessed in the forced prayer session the daughter receives from her girlfriend. The son's study partner, Becca is the temptress. The symbolic lure of negative behavior.The viewer also notes the use of religion as a political ploy or as a reflection of clergy's own ego.There appears to be a liberal bias in trying to show the postmodern family's effort to take part in religious ceremonies that are not there own nor that they understand. Eli Gold's flippant suggestion to have Yom Kippur break the fast dinner at Peter's house is not really believable. All the inquiries into religion make religion itself appear overly shallow but having said that I think it also reflected this historic eras discontent with today's reflection of the spiritual nature in human beings and the stirring of a search for a new definition of God or ritual.The good wife shows love to be both passionate and responsible in nature. It is a binding force in families while complicated in adult relationships. The family stereotypes have certainly been revamped. The nurturing grandmother is now viewed as a political manipulator. The children are often the parents to the parents with much more knowledge and responsibility as well as power than they have ever cultivated before.Office intrigue is not lacking and one is stimulated to assess whether the ends justifies the means. There is an underlying instruction in law and politics. The show in captivating and moves quickly from one situation to the next while maintaining a continuity of mental exploration. The character development is deeper than in most tv shows which lends to familiarity and affinity with the players human problems. You work through the morale and personal issues with the characters and are never sure of what they will decide or whether you will agree with them.It is a challenging show and worth the watching. It makes one think on many issues relating to personal character, loyalty, good citizenship, race relations, family priorities. It makes the viewer think.

The Good Wife is a show I nearly missed out on, partly because it takes nearly half of the first season to establish its tone and fully take flight. I tuned in originally because the premise was intriguing. The protagonist, Alicia Florrick, is the woman behind the fake political smile, standing by a man most women would be happy to be rid of. What makes someone like this tick? From the get go, it is clear that Alicia is complicated. That only develops further as the seasons unfold.If the series had just been about her, I might have lost interest. However, it is also a first-rate courtroom drama and an intriguing political drama with an enthralling romance at its center. An episode like "Bad" features the strengths that hooked me. A disarming sociopath, Colin Sweeney, is introduced and you just can't look away. Who is this man and why would any decent person defend him? There are no easy answers. Equally engrossing is "Heart" in which Alicia crosses a professional line with her boss from which they will never fully recover. And if the final moments of season finale"Running" don't hook you, then you really aren't a fan.The episodes are tightly written with both stand alone legal plots and an overarching political triangle that has multiple reverberations. The cast is uniformly good. My favorites are Josh Charles as Will Gardner and Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart, as odd and endearing a professional couple as any I have seen. Much attention is given to Juliana Margulies and there is a reason for that. She steers the show gracefully. There is also stellar work by a large supporting cast of mostly familiar faces. If you watched Gilmore Girls, Weeds, The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie, and The Americans, you'll be happy to see familiar faces used effectively. And there are many peculiar cameos by famous faces playing quirky judges. My favorite is Ana Gasteyer as a woman who insists that lawyers in her courtroom preface everything they say with, "In my opinion." I absolutely loved this first season. Don't miss it.

Le sujet est rarement traité; les personnages sont remarquables par leur force, leur personnalité trés combative; pas forcément morale. J'ai beaucoup appris sur la justice américaine; les dialogues sont forts, percutants; la traduction française irréprochable.IL faut cependant aimé le milieu justice-avocats etc;jamais de longueurs; dans un même épisode plusieurs histoires sont traitées.Je n'arrive pas à trouver la saison 4(je l'ai vue chez une amie) saison 4 en français et à un prix correct. Je recommande cette série.

アメリカ版のレビューになります。日本でも人気のあったERとSEX AND THE CITYに登場していた二人がメインキャラクターなので、ドラマ好きには、とても楽しい作品だと思います。SEX AND THE CITY のミスタービッグがこのドラマでは、セックススキャンダルと賄賂の疑いで失職して収監された元検事です。主人公は初期ERで看護婦キャロルを演じていた女性で、大学卒業して弁護士の資格を取ってすぐに結婚して夫を支えていました。夫の失職で、約２０年ぶりに弁護士に復帰します。メインは、主人公の弁護士業の話で、サブプロットに、陰謀にハマった（自業自得でもあるけれど）夫の裁判の行方、夫のセックススキャンダルに苦しむ家族の話、主人公と大学時代の友だちとの友達以上恋人未満の関係、が語られます。ストーリーも素晴らしいけれど、登場人物も個性があって良いです。個人的には、弁護士事務所で調査員をしているカリンダがヒットです。とてもクールなインド系の美女で、なんでもやってのけます。そしてこのドラマを一番興味深くしている点は、主人公と夫と大学時代の友達であり現在の職場のボスとの三角関係です。主人公は家庭を大切にしたいと思いつつ、仕事も面白くなってきます。更にボスは優秀かつジョークが面白く、大学時代から今も主人公に片思いで、陰日向に主人公を支えています。ちょっと主人公が優等生すぎる所もあるけれど、最近のドラマでは久々の佳作です。シーズン１で２０回以上あるので、見応えも十分。最後はシーズン２も見なきゃ、と思わせる終わり方も素敵です。

Une nouvelle réalisation de très grande qualité produite par Ridley Scott.Il est tout à fait intéressant et instructif, particulièrement dans l'actualité du moment, de voir de l'intérieur le véritable travail d'enquêteurs auquel doivent se livrer les avocats aux Etats Unis et on en apprend beaucoup sur le système juridique de ce pays !En outre, chaque épisode est consacré à une intrigue différente et très bien construite avec en toile de fond, l'enquête autour de l'affaire du mari de l'héroïne et tout ceci est vraiment passionnant.Et enfin, on ne peut qu'apprécier dans le rôle principal Juliana Marguilès dont les qualités d'actrice et le charme trouvent enfin un emploi à la mesure de ses capacités ainsi que l'attachante Archie Panjabi qui excelle dans un rôle indispensable à la série.

Prix attractif, livraison rapide et conforme à mes attentes.Cette série est remarquablement menée avec plusieurs Histoires qui commencent et se terminent au fil des épisodes sans que cela n'alter l'histoire de fond entre Alicia et Peter. Scénarios remarquablement bien ficelés même si parfois on peut se demander comment l'enquêtrice arrive à trouverles preuves aussi facilement.A voir absolument.
