The Les Paul Guitar Book

Well researched. Lots of really great photos. I've owned many Les Paul guitars over the years but never really thought much about them at the time. They were just the best of the best! Very enjoyable finding out all about the history and the differences in the guitars I loved playing so much.

I was in the market to purchase a Les Paul and quickly found myself overwhelmed by all of the options. Traditional, Classic, Supreme, Standard, Reissue, etc. This book placed every guitar in complete context for me as well as offering great pictures and historical notes. I have bought similar books for Fender and PRS. A great read and a great resource.

Just about the best book you can find on Gibson Les Paul Guitar's.If you really want to be able to identify certain model's and statistic's and even will help you with important information if you do your own modifying or upgrading parts to your Les Paul.I have been doing my own changes and upgrades over the year's for a long time before this book came out,so I know this book is very helpful.this book gives you all the ideas you will need to make changes to your Les Paul.I recommend you work on cheap guitar's to learn on how to modify or upgrade until you start to get a good understanding of how to do all these modification's or upgrade's.Then when you feel you have a good understanding of swaping part's in and out of the cheapos,attempt it on your Les Paul.Hope this was helpful to you all.

I bought some books of this author really fun to read and good quality on the content; But my copy has some weird oversaturated color on the cover, if you are mad with this details be aware.

What a great read! Great who anybody who wants the history of Les Paul’s!

Tony Bacon has really taken it to the next level with this edition of The Les Paul Guitar Book! More photos of beautiful and unique model Les Pauls, more narrative, more specifications, etc. Tony updates the chronology of the Les Paul in this edition to late 2008/early 2009. This book is a must-have for any guitar player/collector who is into Les Pauls. It is the definitive reference, and also includes some great stories from artists and people who were involved in the development of many Les Paul models over the years.

I thought I was an expert on the Les Paul's history, but this book went way beyond what I already knew. Really in-depth look at the guitar's history and how we got from an almost unwanted instrument that Gibson struggled to sell, to the epic legend it is today. Very well written, great pics, and a true Les Paul lover's dream.

It's ok. It's not as comprehensive or detailed as I would have hoped it to be. It's more of a history book than a reference book. It tells many of the stories about the conception and sporadic production of Les Pauls and the usage by famous players.The serial number decoder in the back of the book doesn't compute for the Les Pauls that I own. I was hoping to track down the origins of the older one.
