If the hoops are bent to 1.2m (4ft) wide they will stand approx. 60cm (2ft) high. Review: Hoopla - These are great for keeping fleece, polythene or insect mesh clear of your veggies or fruits. They are long lasting and fairly sturdy. I have personally being using these hoop types for 3 years. They will bend easily and push into the soil using the supplied sleeves. If you have raised beds, large fence staples will hold the hoops firmly to the sides. You need 1 hoop approximately every 1m to provide the best support for your covers. It is best to remove them from the ground when not in use and lay them flat, under cover and out of sunlight, to take the tension out of the bend. Direct sunlight will degrade plastic over a period and these are worth protecting. Good value. Review: Easy and practical to use - Like: very fast delivery, size, flexibility and sturdiness Dislike: nothing so far. Letโs hope they are long lasting and worth the money.

Versatile
Very versatile for covering vegetables. Good product but very pricey for a flexible stick

Flexible, robust system at a good price
I used these at single height to cover seeds and young plants, then at double length to cover large cabbages and Brussel sprouts. Easy to use - the flexible rods are held in place by lengths of plastic pipe poked into the ground. Once covered with mesh net pegged down to the ground the structure is rigid enough to withstand gusty strong winds. Good value for money, and I expect many years of use.

OK for lightweight jobs.
These hoops are simplicity itself to use, and luckily suited my purpose very well. However, the "anchors" are just plastic tubes, without even any holding devices, and the pressure of the hoops definitely needs a firm block on either side (as inside a raised bed, see pic). Also, they tend to bend towards each other once the netting is tightened. A small, protected raised bed should be fine, use in a larger, open area might not be successful.
