Not exactly what I expected
The first 1/3rd of this book covered "hypnosis"- a very small part of what is taught was meditation, a little bit of visualization and a lot of positive thinking. The other 2/3rds was about what can happen in labor, how to choose home va. Hospital births, how doulas are helpful, etc. I was kind of disappointed in this becasue I wanted an entire book about hypnobirthing. I had already read several books about the other things covered. Also, I am not able to download the audio tracks from the publisher's website- I can only play them directly from the website which is inconvenient for me.

Really helps you look at birth in a positive light!
Reading this book is really helping me to mentally prepare for childbirth. I’ve downloaded the meditation tracks that go along and they lull me to sleep, very relaxing. I love the emphasis on perceiving and embracing childbirth with a good mindset and not one of fear. Very positive energy and affirmations in here that any pregnant woman could benefit from!

BIRTHING IS NOT SCARY. YOU JUST THINK IT IS.
This book is brilliant - I've read a ton of baby/mother/birthing/pregnancy books and THIS is the best, by far. Sophie Fletcher writes easily and wonderfully, gives great explanations to everything, addresses the fears of pregnancy without making it scarier, preps you on what everything is going to be like, ultimately takes the unknown possibilities of pregnancy and makes them very comfortable and simple situations that you CAN get through in peace.

A lot of food for thought during preparation for childbirth ...
A lot of food for thought during preparation for childbirth. I think that there is plenty to take away here for expectant parents whether or not birth goes absolutely to "plan".

My third labour was extremely painful and it made me anxious
I was pregnant with my 4th baby and was very apprehensive about labour. My third labour was extremely painful and it made me anxious. I had never tried hypno-birthing before but after hearing so many good things about it I decided to give this book a try. I was 37 weeks by the time I got around to it though but I read the book & listened to the tracks every night and the difference was amazing. When my labour started I was calm and not in pain I listened to the tracks and laboured with no pain relief. I used a bit of gas and air for my birth (crowning) and had a nice experience. My labour was 2 hours from first contraction to birth, my other children were 4 hours so I'm not sure if the hypno-birthing helped time wise or not but it definitely made the whole experience a nice one for me. I was calm and loved my labour and birth experience this time. I can imagine if you started this a lot earlier in your pregnancy it would help even more.

Results as expected :)
I liked the book and tried to follow it. Started after 7th month of my pregnancy but my delivery experience was amazing. I delivered the baby without any pain killer - not even gas and air. I always believed in power of mind and I am glad I purchased this book. It is simple and easy. Though I didn't follow everything in the book, I couldnt find time to listen to the tracks everyday until I was 37+ weeks pregnant, it worked for me. Basically it is the power of our own mind.Better than going for expensive classes.

Good luck!
I read many hypnobirth books including Mongan, Gowri and Graves and found this to be most helpful especially the audio tracks. I ended up having a homebirth with this playing in the background throughout. Worth it but you have to listen every night for at least a few weeks to switch to autopilot. Good luck!

Deep and meaningful yet simple to follow!
I read this book when pregnant with my first and it changed my whole outlook on pregnancy, birth, being a woman and eventually a mother. It helps reframe our overall perception of birth and become more in tune with ourselves and builds confidence in our body's abilities. This book resonated on such a deep level for me I then went on to train with Sophie and become a practitioner. I really put the techniques and teachings to the test with my second birth (homebirth) and still can't comprehend how much they helped. My Midwives didn't believe I was contracting my doula was amazed. This book has depth yet easy to follow and read. This should be given to every pregnant woman to at least glance over... Thank you for your teachings Sophie! ❤️

Good introduction to Hypnobirthing
Good introduction to Hypnobirthing - comes with some audio tracks you can access online. Found them really useful when it came to preparing for birth and on the day itself.I still use some of the visualisation techniques now when I need to relax or I'm feeling stressed.Easy to read, you can easily dip back into the book for reference.
