Are we back in 1985? -- replacement
The tablet itself is great! Better than I thought it would be. However I feel like I am back in 1985. This particular device looks like it was use in a store as a demo model. Just like in the time of Ghost Busters, Marty McFly and the Gremlins, There are those tell tail signs of image burn in, or "image retention", as it is now called. You know like those old orange and black CRT monitors that Kevin Flynn used before he was digitized? It looks like some omni present ghost of text long erased. This "ghost" is actually clear enough to read, with a light background. it reads ""Product design specifications, colors and user interface included in this video are subject to change without notice and may vary from those shown." and "The availability of services may vary by country." I have ordered a replacement, that I expect will be showroom perfect, but I would not expect this flaw with a "certified" refurbished product, I would however expect it with an in store demo machine. Other than this fatal flaw, this tablet is a dream. I am able to get a lot of work done on it. I bought it to upgrade from my now ancient Motorola Zoom. this tablet comes with a lot of extras too. Free subscription to evernote, The screen (other than the afore stated problem) is crisper than I have ever seen, it's beautiful, Great, loud sound, and even the bass is OK. Another thing I like about this tablet is the fact that it vibrates, which I don't think is a common feature. The battery is OK, it takes along time to charge when compared to the zoom, Almost 9 hours, when I revived it too full (the battery was all the way dead). Do I recommend this tablet? YES, YES, YES! ... But don't leave any one image on the screen for too long!!! Once I get the replacement, I will change my rating, if there are no other issues. -- edit So I did get my replacement and I did change my rating for the better. This one doesn't have any burn in issues ... As of yet. Great tablet.

Before you buy, Read this!! ----BE WARNED!!
Before you buy BE WARNED!!! Square Deals states these are manufacturer refurbished tablets, and that was what I was expecting. The first one I got had some screen retention (burn in) on one side of the screen. On a dark background it wasnt that noticeable, but on a light or white background stuck out like a sore thumb. It clearly reads : "Product design, specifications, colors and user interface included in this video are subject to change without notice and may vary from those shown. The availability of services may vary by country." Yes, that was permanately burned into the screen along one side. With AMOLED something like this can not be fixed without replacing the entire display. It is caused by showing the same image, over an extended period of time. Like a Demo model would. So I contacted Amazon, and as always they were great!! They rushed me a replacement ASAP. I was hoping/thinking this was something that just slipped through the cracks un-noticed. So the replacement came today, and that same writing is burned into the screen on the same side, but not nearly as noticeable. I could easily hide it if not for the fact the rest of the screen has a huge Samsung logo and some graphics burned into the screen covering the entire center. On Web pages, or any light background it can't possibly be missed. It covers a good 50% of the screen. According to Samsungs official site: Each Samsung Certified Refurbished Product: is fully tested (including full burn-in testing, if applicable) is refurbished with replacement parts for any defective modules identified in testing. is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection. is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, new boxes, etc.). So Im a bit confused. This is advertised as manufacturer refurbished. Yet Samsung clearly states they are tested for this very issue and fixed. The also state NEW BOXES. My first one was in the original box, but scuffed up. The replacement (which was worse) came in a plain white box. Now, in regards to the Galaxy Tab s 10.5 itself, its a great tablet. And I do recommend the tablet itself. In regards to the Certified manufacter refurbished version sold by Square Deals: They could pass for a new one so long as no one actually looked to closely at the display to see the burn in. They seem to work well also, except that neither of the 2 I got have working headphone jacks. Burn in issue aside, they look and work good. Minus the headphone jack that doesn't work. I have come to the conclusion these are NOT Samsung Refurbished products, but rather demo models that have simply been reset to factory default settings, thrown in a box as sold as Manufacturer Refurbished. If not Samsung, then what manufacturer are the referring to? And Certified by whom? If you do not mind the screen being permanantly damaged (I/e you can not fix it easily without replacement) and do not mind seeing the ghost image of a demo screen or text behind everything you do, the tablets themselves look good and perform well. I do wish Amazon would edit the description to state clearly these may not be Manufacturer refurbished as stated. Because nothing seems to follow Samsungs refurb guidlines here, and no sticker any marking showing otherwise. Just a tablet, and charger in different types of boxes. And its not fair to Amazon to keep sending replacements (paying shipping on each) until I receive one thats as advertised. Its not Amazons fault. Screen shots added. Note it looks worse in person than in the pictures. The 1st has the text on the side, clearly visible, near home button. The replacement has the same text to a lesser degree, but also the Galaxy logo and other graphics burned into the screen. Those are not shadows, but discoloration form the burn in.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Super AMOLED . . . Super Efficient . . . Super Sleek . . . Super All the Way Around!
The Tab S 10.5 is sleek, easy to use, with a responsive operating system and a super AMOLED screen that gives a picture is...well... super! The images are crystal clear and the colors are bright, making movies and gaming more enjoyable. I have been playing Agent Alice and was delightfully surprised at the more 3d effects of this screen over my Tab 7 in some scenes. The sound is vastly improved. Samsung has eliminated the annoying tinny quality that the speakers in the Tab 7 gave out. The system itself is not laggy at all. Once I stopped drooling over the lovely Titanium color, the feature that attracted me most to Tab S 10.5 is the abilitly to use side by side windows. I deliberately chose this model for that feature in order to use Evernote alongside Chrome to do my university studies. I have to say that I was not in the least disappointed. I have acutally begun to prefer the Samsung over the PC for my studies. Tab S 10.5 integrates seamlessly with multiple keyboards. Unsure of which I would like more, I ordered both the Samsung Titanium keyboard case and the FYY trifold in gold with hidden keyboard, and after trying them out, I decided to keep both. Both keyboards connect wirelessly to the Tab S and are equally efficient. I find that Iike using the Samsung keyboard more at home due to the higher angle at which it holds the screen, and the overall stiffness of the unit for any long typing jobs. The FYY case is perfect for travel, although I use it at home as well, but it does allow me to hold the tablet open like a book for reading; it also has the advantage of being able to be folded in either direction so that it will either hold up the screen to use the unit as a sort of laptop, or folded more flat for reading or laying flat or one can hold it open like a conventional book. While the matching Titanium case adds to the sleekness without adding bulk and has a somewhat more comfortable distance between keys, the FYY case adds some bulk but it also affords some protection, as my relative proved by dropping it three times on the hard bus floor while playing a game. The only improvement I could suggest is to add a trackpad to the native keyboard to use as a mouse. All in all, I would definitely buy this unit again, and both cases.

Great tablet but only supports Android Marshmallow so not all apps will be compatible anymore.
I bought this tablet 4 years ago and it's still going. Screen is great, battery life is good, I have had no complaints. I use it almost every day. After 4 years though the issue is happening that happens with all andriod devices on older versions, loss of app support. So the Amazon app no longer runs (though you can use the browser to access) but most other things still work. The latest supported version is 6.0.1 (Marshmallow).

A great 10 inch Tablet
I have owned several Samsung Tablets, including the Tab S 8.4. The size, weight, and functionality of the Tab S 10.5 are great. The screen is beyond comparison. The landscape orientation is something I had to get used to. With the Samsung keyboard, this is a very good device for any purpose. I use the Tab S 10.5 for email, remote access to customer's desktops, browsing the internet, and generally anything I use a laptop for. I also have a Samsung Chromebook. The Tablet is far better for general use due to the limitations of the Chrome O/S. There are larger tablets and there are smaller ones. I am sure there are users who will be able to justify either. I have used small tablets as a replacement for a PDA. Calendar, contact list, schedule, etc. and carried a laptop with me for most anything else. I find the Tab S 10.5 is able to do more and more of the laptop functions. I have a job this week to configure a wireless access point. This will require the laptop. Those instances are fewer and fewer all the time. This 10 inch tablet is a great tool for anyone on the go.

Verizon product
This item works as promised. For the price it is OK. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is a VERIZON product and there is a constant warning that there is no SIM card available. There is no way to turn this warning off. Also all of Verizon's apps continuously try to download even after disabling them. The start up screen is also an annoying bright red VERIZON LOGO. I just wanted a WIFI only device and would not have bought this if I had know it is a Verizon product.

Second time was the charm
Ordered the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in titanium bronze. The unit was delivered promptly and appeared to be in pristine condition. Unfortunately, the device was defective (it powered down spontaneously about two minutes after every boot up), so I returned it. The return went through without a hitch, so I thought I would try again. The second unit also arrived promptly and in pristine condition. This one is a keeper. Have been using it for about a week, and it seems to be fine. It was worth it to take a chance on a refurb, as the cost savings are substantial, and the return policy makes the purchase almost risk-free. From now on, I will buy refurbed gadgets whenever the savings are attractive. Update 2015-07-04: Have been using this tablet daily for about three weeks. It is now my go-to device, displacing my Windows 8 laptop and my two Surface tablets. The battery lasts for 10 to 12 hours of moderate use, which is good enough for me. The display quality is fantastic - the pixel density is so high that I cannot discern any hint of pixelation or other digital artifacts. The colors are a little over-saturated, which is good for graphics and text, but natural scenes (especially skin tones) appear a little unnatural -- however, not to the point where you would want to adjust the display settings. I updated the Android OS to lollipop, which is great, but the Adobe Flash plug-ins no longer work. You might want to hold off on lollipop until Adobe releases compatible browser plug-ins for Flash.

Some problems
We returned this refurbished tablet because when we attempted to charge the tablet, with the charger included in the package, for the first time after more than 12 hours of charge time the tablet indicated 63% charged. We contacted Samsung support who suggested we try to charge with the charging chord we use with our Samsung phones. The tablet fully charged but we experienced some problems in the initial set-up. We're not tech geeks but we know away around the basics. Between the set up and the faulty charger we weren't confident in the refurbished model. Everything we've read about this product has been positive and makes us believe the problems we encountered could be related to this refurbished tablet, not the product overall
