You can’t go wrong with a trout magnet kit like this

I was skeptical about the trout magnet, it sounded so gimmicky, reminded me of the "as seen on TV!" Banjo minnow type lures I had as a child (that never worked). I'm decent at catching trout with in-line spinners like Mepps Aglia and Panther Martins, but I wanted to try something different. I was blown away by Trout Magnet. This is not a gimmick. It works. I was catching fish way more frequently than I ever did with spinners, and pulling fish out of fishing holes I didn't even know had fish. Yes, any tiny jig head with plastic grub probably would work but if you're lazy and want to take out the guesswork, this system is the real deal. The only criticism are that, as many have said the plastic box that the lures come in is absolute junk, it doesn't even close correctly. You're going to need a separate small box with compartments to hold these things. Also, after casting out the lure you need to twitch it a bit and give it some action, otherwise fish won't bite. But other than that, if you're not catching trout with the trout magnet, then either there's no trout, or you're not fishing it right.

Worked great on the A section of the Green River! Tried it out the beginning of October with the green black combo on a black hook. Caught a lot of nice sized brown and rainbow trout. Easy set up. I was able to use it as an alternative to fly fishing while trying to manage my toddler on the drift boat! I would recommend this product. I bought the line, leader, ez float and lure kit and used it as recommended. Good stuff! Simple to use. I used there ez float bobbers and the only thing I didn’t like is the fact the paint flakes off quickly which sucks for water and wildlife, please fix that. Otherwise great product.

They're okay. For the price, they're fine. I feel like the hooks are a bit cheap and the plastic/rubber baits are not as heavy duty as newer brand items. For example 6 sense or zman baits are much stronger and last longer.

Phenomenal for stocked rainbow trout. There were probably 10 poles in the water using powerbait nearby and those guys only pulled in maybe 2 total fish over 5 hours. As soon as I switched to the trout magnet on a long 4 lb flouro leader under a weighted bobber, I got 4 fish on the line and two up onto the pier in an hour. I used some attractant jelly so that the fish don't spit out the bait, so don't be afraid to improvise. Biggest trick is just getting the lure to rest 1-2 ft above the bottom / top of grass. Let it sit for 10 seconds. Then crank it back 10 to feet. Let the lure flutter back to the bottom. Repeat. You'll have better casts and more fun with a light power rod.

A bit disappointed with this bait, 3 days fishing no bites
