One of the most popular comic artists in the world, Ai Yazawa, returns with a 20th anniversay edition of the fashion-inspired comic that made her an international sensation, Paradise Kiss . This new edtion celebrates 20 years since Paradise Kiss began serialization in Japan and combines the original 3 volume release into 1 beautiful package. High fashion and hot drama come together in Paradise Kiss. One of the manga to launch the manga boom globally Paradise Kiss combined stunning design work and YA themed naratives that made it a multimillion unit seller worldwide. Review: Lovely - It's so beautiful and it arrived in perfect state!Tysm Review: A favorite - I've read Paradise Kiss back when TokyoPop originally released the series in the US as a 5-volume release. I was thrilled that Vertical picked it up although I didn't have a need to get it again just yet. I'm glad that I held off because when this 20th anniversary edition came up on my recommendations, I snapped it up. It is a really nice presentation. I love the opening color pages. The text is easy to read too. The story itself is as good, poignant and piercing to me as it was when I first read it back in the mid-2000s. Yukari and gang are still messy and goofy and oddly engaging (except for Arashi who I have never forgiven... haha). There are some manga series that I re-read that don't quite stand the test of time, but ParaKiss still reads as relevant today as it was when I first read it. So happy that I got this edition and thank you, Vertical, for publishing it here in the States.

Beautiful reprint
The level of my excitement when I saw this!! I used to have the original prints, but they were lost years ago and I'd never been able to replace them since they were out of print. Anyway, thank you for finally reprinting one of my favorite manga!!

Love it
Always loved this story, Ai Yazawa doesnt disappoint with the fashion. Wonderful quality for an anniversary edition although it’s huge so it’s a bit tedious to carry around.

A lot of pages 😍😍😍
Big manga. I’m in love, this has to be about 5 volumes or more. Ai never misses 🥲. I don’t have to get another manga for a while.

An old favorite now bound in one place
Any fan of Ai Yazawa will probably want this printing on their shelf. The printing looks good, I just get a little nervous about cracking the spine sometimes since it sits so visible on a shelf. This bad boy contains the whole series, so it’s thick, but looks gorgeous in a manga collection with the nice purple color and subtle pattern of the spine. I’ll admit the official English translation here occasionally misses some of the tonal nuance the anime preserves more easily. Also it defiantly feels more like a prototype to Nana in terms of its psychology and vibe. But Yazawa has always been good at writing emotions, particularly in toxic situations and that’s just as true here. And the art, as always, is gorgeous, clearly showcasing her background in fashion study. Nobody can make a manga as fashionable as Ai Yazawa.

The best value you can get.
The quality from Vertical is astonishing. Spine does not crease, paper is high quality, color pages included are high Res. The whole series is included in this all- in -1 20th anniversary edition. It even has a bonus author chapter at the end and keeps all the information from the original printings such as websites and magazine mentions where "you can find more" in instead of updating it or taking out the outdated information which is a plus. Overall a great story, as expected from Ai Yazawa.

This manga is better than anime
I have bought this manga Last month and when is started reading I saw so many humorous scenes which was not well portrayed in anime, this manga is based on a girl who is on secondary school she wasn't expecting something to stumble upon that would change her life, she is allure and was asked to be a model in beginning, she always looked herself down who doesn't have credentials to be something, I would definitely recommend to buy this manga instead of watching Anime

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful, Painful, and Real — A Timeless Classic
Paradise Kiss: 20th Anniversary Edition is a stunning read and a perfect example of why Ai Yazawa is such a beloved author. Her stories always portray real human emotions and life situations that can be difficult to face, but that honesty is exactly what makes her work so powerful. I was first introduced to Ai Yazawa through NANA, and after falling in love with that series, I wanted to explore more of her work. Paradise Kiss completely surprised me—in the best way possible. While it has a very different tone, genre, and style from NANA, it is just as impactful and emotionally gripping in its own unique way. The characters feel real, flawed, and deeply human, and the story explores themes of love, independence, dreams, and growing up in a way that feels raw and authentic. This anniversary edition is also beautifully presented, making it a wonderful addition to any manga collection. Highly recommended for fans of emotionally rich storytelling and for anyone who loved NANA and wants to experience more of Ai Yazawa’s incredible work. 💖📚
