Krylon KRY3926 Shimmer Metallic Spray Paint 11.5oz Black

I Finally found the perfect green for my steel palm trees after trying a dark green matte color And I need two more cans but they are nowhere to be found except one site where I had to pay $89 for two cans out of desperation. I absolutely love this color because it pops and it went on just fine. I don't understand the bad reviews about the metallic green. Every can of spray paint has residual spray in the air. This went on beautifully and I love the contrast against my privet trees. I think too many people leave bad reviews and they don't know how to use the product and the rest of us suffer the consequence by not being able to find them available anymore. This shimmer candy apple green was a great color. I highly recommend it if you can find it somewhere and you are spraying on steel like I was after I put a base primer on. You can see this color on the left-hand palm trees in the lighter green with a pretty shimmer in the sun.

Used this for a cosplay prop and it came out pretty good! I recommend to take your time and be careful because the tip does get clogged. Unclog it then do a test spray and get back to it. I used a glossy clear coat which definitely saved this review. Without that coat this would’ve been a flop. I love how it shines in the light, I would recommend it. My scissor blade did catch some eyes because it wasn’t just a flat glossy red.

I was looking for an easy to apply paint to spice up some old frames and decided to try this new Krylon "shimmer". The color is absolutely stunning! I cannot get over how beautiful and rich the color is. The sparkle/shimmer is noticeable without being gaudy and it's a true black cherry (not unlike the color you see on some cars). The paint was easy to apply and coated well. I had no issues with clogging. I have added some pics to hopefully show how nice the color came up. These were plain black or gray frames. On the one, I combined this cherry with Krylon dark bronze for a really nice look. Highly recommended.

Be patient. Yeah, I know it’s difficult, but this is the nature of Candy Apple Red (even from a can). Photo #1 exhibits the final result: exactly what I’d imagined. It takes a while though. I was painting 12” wooden letter for a guitar store sign, and Candy Apple Red represents one of the many iconic electric guitar finishes, so I was pretty particular. I started with two (actually, I made it three) coats of paint/primer in metallic aluminum. The color was probably not necessary, but in true C.A.R., you need an undercoat of metallic silver or gold. Then I used almost two full cans of Krylon Shimmer Metallic Candy Apple (probably 5 light coats over 14 of these 12” letters. Light, smooth, even coats (you’re starting to see why patience is essential). Expect some spray clogging to occur. I had some mineral spirits handy to rinse the spray tip, but simple twist manipulation did the trick. Starting the flow is pretty challenging, but stick with it. Don’t get discouraged. Give the spray tip a little twist-pull-replace, and get back to it. Smooth, easy passes. The color at this point will not be what you’ll expect. The color on the packaging lid is nowhere near representative of the color in any of this process. Your color on the first few passes will be more cranberry in appearance (refer to photo #3). I took about 30 minutes in between light coats. Photo #4 shows multiple coats (dried) of the Krylon Shimmer Metallic Candy Apple. It’s okay, but please don’t stop now. Trust me. In my final passes, I perceived I was seeing more metallic silver than red. Thirty minutes after applying one more pass with the Krylon C.A.R., I started applying Rust-Oleum Gloss Clear coat. This is exactly when the WOW-factor starts to take place (refer to photo #5). The clear gloss REALLY wakes everything up in a big way. I used a full can of clear coat (about 3 passes, 30 minutes in between). They say watching paint dry is a boring exercise. You won’t be able to stop looking at your project in between your applications of clear gloss. The result was exactly what I’d intended, but it took patience and time. I’ll say this as well: the first can of Krylon Shimmer Metallic Candy Apple performed better than the second (I experienced many more clogs and perceived an increased presence of metallic silver rather than Candy Apple as the can approached empty. Maybe I had neglected to shake the can enough during application. The payoff is worth the effort, so stick with it.

I bought the green spray hoping to use it for a Christmas project and expected the green to look more green but it has a slightly blue green look to it. Images attached. I had an item that was already sprayed green as reviews say that it really needs a base coat. It is very very sparkly and even though I bought a clear coat to go over it, it was actually very shiny without the clear coat. Image also attached if how shiny it is without clear coat. The product is beautiful and easy to use for sure and sparkles nicely.

I read the other reviews and decided that this was the color I wanted. I wanted a color that was not solid, and had some variation. It definitely does not look like the orange on the can. It started as more of a copper color then became darker orange as I progressed. It had metallic flakes in it which gave the metal tank some depth and was extremely vibrant. Does not look like rust… as for me it was very shiny!

This candy apple red paint is beautiful. I read other reviews, someone had mentioned that it was more of a metallic cranberry color which is correct. Gorgeous color!! I am very upset with this paint. I had ordered 2 cans in this color and same line 1 in another color. I am not sure if this paint is old or expired, I followed the directions perfectly. I was only able to spray it for minimum 3 seconds at a time for a huge planter. It would not spray longer then that, I had to keep removing the spray topper, push it on slightly and spray for another 3 seconds while it would drip onto my planter. I tried switching spray toppers with the other can I had purchased, same color, as well as, another topper from same spray paint line but another color which was unused, All of them sprayed the same. What are the chances that all 3 spray toppers would be defective and not work properly? It was a huge headache and it took forever. I am very disappointed. REMEMER: this color is not candy apple AT ALL. This paint is more of a Cranberry metallic color which is beautiful. Dreading painting the second coat : #

So this is just spray paint with glitter in it. This does not look metallic. Save your money and just get glitter paint. This may be great for smaller things like models but for putting a layer on a table it runs out maybe just over half way. Overall the color wasn't great because I did think of maybe ordering a few more cans but after it dried it wasn't anywhere near what I thought it was trying to be. Again for small things like models this is probably great for for covering something like a chair like in the picture you'll need at least 2 cans and lower expectations.
