Like many folks probably have, I've used quite a few monopods over the past 40–50 years, along with tripods. Of course, nowadays, there may be little need for either since most modern-day cameras have built in image stabilization (IS) systems for steady shooting. There are those of us who still may be periodically using older cameras that do not have any image stabilization (IS) systems, so when it comes to stability, we're stuck with using either a heavier/cumbersome tripod, or one of the many monopods on the market. The problem with a tripod is maneuverability and convenience - both of which become lacking when you're out on a photo jaunt. On the other hand, monopods, although lighter and more convenient, still wind up not providing that much more additional support (unless you're leaning it against something sturdy). Now enter this Avella monopod design. Not only is it a monopod, but it has 3 solid flip-out legs on the bottom that steadies the monopod quite a bit more. Heck, it can stand on its own without you even having to touch it, yet the entire assembly is still light and portable. Quality-wise, this Avella monopod is very solid and has both a professional feel and look to the unit. The moment I received it, I had to run outside and begin using it, and it is a huge difference (at least in my book) from previous monopods that I've used. Now be advised, as is the case in many different situations, Chinese-made products are often made by one OEM company and then the finished products are farmed out to a variety of brand names, who then sell them under that brand name. So it won't be uncommon to observe virtually the same tripod being marketed under both different brand names and also different prices. So this unit comes highly recommended, and I consider it a must-have if you're still shooting older cameras that lack IS of any sorts.

Quality nicer than one of my SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive Monopods. Would absolutely buy again! Holds lots of weight without being tippy. The only downside is our nicer monopod has a fluid head in the base, but this one does not, so you cant rotate the whole vertical sections without moving the feet easily

I've used many monopods and tripods. This is my favorite one. It's a must have for every photographer. I primarily use it to shoot lacrosse. Keeps my 200-500 lens nice and steady when using the feet at the bottom. Great value. Highly recommend. If you just have a 35/50mm prime on your camera body, this will hold it just fine for portraits (as long as there is no wind).

Very very sturdy and well made. It’s heavy but comes with nice bag to carry it in. I was impressed with how well it is made. However it doesn’t not swivel; meaning when you wan to have it standing as a tripod, you would have to move the whole thing left to right if you’re recording a basketball game for example. I have an old tripod and it has a handle that I can swivel the phone around without moving the entire tripod. So I’m returning it.

I want a second one. Unbelievable quality for the price. This is a steal. I need more.

As a professional commercial and industrial photographer/videographer, I have used this monopod since March 2022. It has been 1,500' underground in a coal mine shin deep in coal muck mud to an airport tarmac photographing an international cargo jet when loading 80 tons of cargo. I also use it for extending a small video camera over the robotic cage in a manufacturing facility. It folds short to pack in case for airline travel. and gives the height I need when I need it. It is a beast and works like it should.

Tripod came quickly and as advertised. Is easy to use and very sturdy w my R6.

It's light. It's able to hold a good amount of gear for landscape. Not recommended for wildlife or sports photography using a long and heavy lens. It's easy to put apart for onboard flight luggage. Good for the value. I had two from other vendors and they aren't as good as this. Will donate them!
