No. This is not the same as dark soy sauce and cannot be substituted. This sauce is a flavour enhancer and can take your dish to another level. You need a few drops only. Do not add it along with other flavours that are strong. It will not be effective.Use this in continental food, omelets, soups, a few drops on pulav or even certain mild Indian curries. Very good product. Highly recommended.
