Did your bag stink really bad?

NO. Our bags are all new, and there will be a small smell of fabric in the bag, but this is not a bad smell, the smell is not irritating, and harmless to human body. This smell will be removed after cleaning the bag, please don't worry it.

How deep is the side pocket?

Not exceptionally deep. My issue was with the clasp. It broke shortly after I bought it and the bag is useless without it.
