This board is ideal if you are planning on making your own custom board with the STM32F405RGT6.
I found this board to be the ideal board if you intend to work towards developing your own custom board. With other development boards they put in extra peripherals which is nice if you are trying to figure out how to use such peripherals, but it also means that pins that you might want to use for other purposes are now dedicated to those peripherals and as such you can't use them. This limits what you might want to add to your design. By having the min design required and having the all the pins routed out to the connectors you can test out designs where you need all the pins or close to it.
