Great grinder - would recommend
Excellent grinder with a few minor flaws โ would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Definitely recommend.Produces enough ground coffee for 2-3 normal sized cups of coffee (12 ounce) with 3-4 minutes of grinding. Produces a more consistent grind than either an electric grinder or your neighborhood barista. On top is the โbean hopperโ where you put the whole beans to grind, and below is the glass jar receptacle to catch the grounds. The hopper can twist off the jar receptacle, and there is a separate jar lid you can twist on to keep your grounds fresh overnight. The jar receptacle holds enough grounds for at least a pot and a half of coffee, probably closer to two. There are a lot of good things to say about this grinder, and a few things that could be improved.Pros:Consistently ground coffee. The separate jar and lid to keep the grounds fresh overnight. The jar receptacle has a rubber base to keep the grinder from sliding around while you grind. The jar receptacle is glass so you can easily see how much you have ground. The bean hopper has a rubber cover to keep the beans in while you grind. The grind adjustment is fairly intuitive and easy to adjust. The satisfaction of hand grinding your own coffee to your own specifications.Cons:The handle is too small. I have average sized hands and have to grasp the handle by my fingertips. A more ergonomic handle would be a significant improvement. The bean hopper doesnโt always feed beans smoothly into the grinder โ sometimes the beans hang up and you have to shake the whole thing to get the beans to drop into the grinder. A better design there would be helpful. The nut holding the handle in place comes loose easily while grinding. A small lock washer would add pennies to the cost and would be a big improvement.

Great manual coffee grinder - but needs taller handle grip
Was looking to replace an electric blade coffee grinder whose internal plastic parts literally disintegrated. After reading a bit on the subject, it seems that ceramic burr coffee grinders are considered best in terms of maintaining coffee flavor. Opted for manual one to test the waters. For the price (> $10), this coffee grinder is hard to beat. However, two things of which to be aware (cons?):1. The grind setting is not identified discretely as it might be on other grinders, e.g. "Fine", "Medium", etc. You need to eyeball the setting by spinning the setting wheel until it's where you think you need it, so it may require some testing depending on how picky you are. This is likely fine if you need only one setting, but do not recommend if you need to use it for more than one. I like my coffee finely ground as it goes in a drip coffee maker, so I just set it once and done.2. The handle grip is a bit short, especially if you have bigger hands. Your knuckles will rub on the arm and/or you may get a fingernail caught sideways on it.Pros:1. It grinds coffee perfectly at whatever setting you have it set. Even grounds!2. A glass jar to capture the coffee with no lip at the top! Because it is glass, no coffee sticks to the sides or bottom and no lip means all the grounds flow nicely out of the jar. This alone makes this grinder worth considering. So many others, including "electric" (really they are rechargeable-battery models) use plastic cups which build up static electricity and cause the coffee grinds to stick inside the container. In addition, many have a lip at the top that makes the grounds more difficult to dispense completely.3. The glass jar as a rubber casing at the bottom to help grip it to a surface while grinding.4. Price! In terms of performance, it grinds extremely well and evenly. Takes me about 8 minutes to grind two coffee scoops of beans, grinding at a reasonable pace. Be sure to lightly bump the grinder against the surface a few times when you feel the handle moving freely as there will often a be a bean or part of one that got stuck elsewhere. It will be obvious if there is as you will meet resistance as you grind it.Recommend for occasional use, like camping. Every day use might get a bit tiring unless you can meditate during those 4-8 minutes and leverage it for a mantra.

I love this little guy
I bought this to grind up dehydrated foods. Celery, for example. Was a very big learning curve. It wouldn't grind it. I thought I broke it once trying to grind it down. I took it apart, washed and dried it. Hello! It has adjustments!Yes, it does. However, it took me forever..5 batches of cranking, to find that out. I expect no one else to have this issue...not a big mental leap, but I didn't make it so well. Lol.So the celery has been cut small slices, dried, put into a bag and smashed as much as I can with a hammer. Then about 3-4 different adjustments through the grinder and I have the very nice celery powder that I like so much.It saves the entire clump and nothing wasted. Still I sprinkle it in soups, bc it can feel like gravel if not softened a bit. I love the flavor and smell of celery. This grinder is so nice for arthritic hands to hold onto while grinding, too. Doesn't slide across the counter.

too slow, too small to be useful
It simply takes too long to grind coffee to be useful. Also - the top screw will not stay, so the arm continuously loosens up as you use it - you'll have to fight that problem every few minutes of grinding. Also, the handle knob is too small, so it feels quite awkward.I've found it takes about ten minutes of grinding just to make a small pot of moka. I have spice grinders that work much better, and faster.Summary: I ended up buying an electric burr grinder to replace this.

Adjustable grind size!
I bought this product since I wanted to start grinding my own coffee beans and it works quite nicely. I am surprised at the fine grind one can achieve with this. It does take a bunch of time to grind the coffee to a fine level (it has taken me around 30min to get a very fine grind), but I would say it is quite amazing for the cost. I also love how easy and straightforward it is to use. I have used it for grinding spices as well and it has worked like a charm. Would definitively recommend!

Just ok and worth the money
I got this after reading that manual grinding was a better way to grind coffee. Was supposed to grind evenly, but I donโt find that to be the case. It works fine as long as you donโt mind a manual grinder. Seems like it is a little hard to turn sometimes and again just takes longer and only does a small amount at a time. I like the little container and it has its on lid so you can grind the night before and leave sealed for the next day. For the money it is fine and good way to introduce you to the art of burr grinding.

Fantastic Value and Quality
I've enjoyed using this grinder. It comes completely apart so you can clean the ceramic burrs and it evens comes with a nice wooden brush for you to use. It is adjustable and definitely produces a consistent ground (as opposed to chopped consistency). I'll use this for travel and at home, instead of buying the expensive electric grinder I was considering. In my opinion all the electrics are unreliable anyway and you get lower quality burrs because you are really paying for the electric mechanism in the machine. This only takes like 2 minutes to grind enough for a pot of coffee and it's actually enjoyable for me. And it smells good. And it makes your coffee taste delicious so totally worth it! The handle is screwed on securely and the motion of it is easy. Great buy!

Great coffee grinder that doubles as a hand exerciser ;)
Does a great job, but itโs a workout for my little hands. The grinder handle turns easily, but I have to put quite a grip on the container to keep it in place. (I understand now why these used to be mounted to counters!) But itโs easy to fill, empty and adjust (coarse/medium/fine) with infinite precision.
