VALUE FOR THE MONE AND QUALITY IS NICE

I just got this so I maybe writing prematurely but I’m glad I was not scared off by the few bad reviews. It is lightweight and plastic so don’t play rough with it. It’s easy to read, be aware it does not click when you’re trying to get the reading just try to pay attention to where the line is pointed it that makes any sense. Seeing as I know I’m not as lean as I want to be right now I’d say the reading is about as close as accurate as I’m going to get until I can get a professional reading. Just follow the chart and instructions and you’ll be fine.

Kind of blown away how much the scale is shifted for men v women. They get like 10%body fat off what I get for the same mm measurement. I call BS. Easy to use caliper. Unsure of the accuracy of the chart

These measure the thickness of your skin, which should reflect the amount of fat in your skin. I thought they might provide a helpful metric to use daily, like weighing yourself, but they are not precise enough to detect small changes. The technique and location of use allows for significant variability in measurements.

Accurate in its own way. Is this the most accurate way to measure body fat? I don't know. But it does track progress really well. So by its own measure, if you're BF= X, and you've been exercising, dieting, and in a certain amount of time measure again, it will reflect your progress ( or lack of progress). Used these for a biggest loser competition and it accurately measured the results, that no one could argue with because each competitor knew how much work each other was putting in. So the person that did the most work, lost the most body fat (noticeably even in pictures) and the calipers did not argue.c

I’m giving this caliper 2 stars for several reasons. In general, I would give 3-4 stars to any working product whether I liked it or not. Okay, here goes: These calipers cannot possibly provide an accurate reading. This is because it does not “click” as indicated in the instructions. Therefore one has no idea how hard to press on the calipers. From just contacting the skin fold to full pressure on the caliper, my readings varied up to 50%. I tried both putting my thumb on the side flange and also not placing it there at all; without putting your finger on the flange it doesn’t slick or even contact the main body of the caliper. When placing a finger on the flange it fully depresses even before your skin is contacted to do the actual measurement. The instructions are easy enough to understand (although there are obvious grammar and spelling errors) and the numbers are easy to read on the caliper. This item simply doesn’t do what it intends to.

This caliper is just too easy to use. I have been skipping gym because there are too many deadlines for the on-going projects at my company. I use this caliper to simply measure my body fat. For a small tool like this, it's safe and fair to say that it's accurate enough. I use it to measure my abs/tummy generally and I am in love with it.

Sometimes it is difficult to see the markings because of the orientation of the caliper when you are taking the measurement, but if you're really having trouble, you can ask someone for help. The built-in lever designed to help you take measurements at consistent pressures is a little difficult to use because the caliper is made from cheap plastic. I would pay 4USD for this item, but not 7USD if I were to purchase it again. It gets the job done, but again, it is very cheap plastic. I think there are other sellers selling the same product for the same price but with an included tape measure. I would buy from them next time.

Seems fragile but I think it is ok if you use it carefully. Measuring is easy and correct when properly done.
