Great Features, Reasonable Price and Brilliant Headphones
Picked this up as some general use headphones for walking around especially to and from work. Firstly these are overall great headphones. I wouldn't say I have a good enough ear to call myself an audiophile, but the sound quality sounds great to me especially on tracks with base such as rap ect which is very punchy. I listen to a large range of music including classical, rock, motown pop and they sound consistently great. The headphones feel light and very well made, with NFC pairing making the whole process very simple. You will absolutely need the Sony app to customise various settings on the headphones, and although it features an automated by default to adjust noise cancellation to your surroundings I wanted to block all noise constantly so turned this feature off. You can remap the main button to voice assistant over the auto noise cancellation option and if your like me you will want to change this in the app, although if using the assistant you may want to tinker on your phone to prevent somewhat annoying notification sounds playing through the headphones. The only negative with the noise cancellation for me is that they do not seem to be as effective in YouTube or watching video content where I can hear traffic, whereas when using Spotify or music apps it blocks out sound extremely well. Battery life is great, and of say I use them for YouTube and music around 2-4 hours a day which you can get remaining battery by pressing the power button once. Ear cup controls are great and very easy to use, and the gesture to stop sound by placing your hand over the right earcup is genuinely useful when someone stops you for a question or you run into someone.Overall I know people always prefer the more expensive M3's, and if you are an audiophile you will likley enjoy the benefits they have to offer. But if you just want great headphones, with really good noise cancellation for what I feel is a very reasonable price (especially if you like bassier music) then you will not go wrong with these. Best headphones I've had yet.

An Essential For Everyone
What more could you want, these are the best headphones if you’re a casual listener like me. They come with an aux cable for wired listening if you want. I wasn’t sure about the ‘Extra Bass’, which honestly could put people off of these, but I knew Sony have an app where you can adjust the bass levels dramatically- from -10, 0, and +10, because heavy bass isn’t the greatest for relaxed listening and I’m far from the biggest bass fan. The charging cable that comes with these is pretty short, but I would advise against using anything while it’s charging so it’s far from a complaint(plus, they last forever without having to charge them!)The app features an equalizer (much like Spotify), so you can adjust your music settings to whatever you want. I’m a fan of the Treble Boost. I was afraid of these headphones having too much bass but they seem perfectly balanced especially with the app’s freedom of choice, you can turn it up and down to your preference! The Noise Cancellation is absolutely perfect, kind of scarily so when you’re on a walk for example because you hear nothing! However, they also have ambient listening so you can switch between hearing what’s around you and blocking it out! VERY handy. These were an upgrade from my 2 year old Airpods because the noise cancellation in those are nonexistent which annoyed me on walks, and because headphones are great & essential to have anyway. These also have some very nice touch controls as well, but I don’t need to use those too much since these work great with my Apple Watch and I can control music volume etc through that!Been using these for 4 days and haven’t had to charge them once yet. Comfortable with glasses as well. I believe these also have a mic in them (pretty damn decent from what I’ve heard) so you can use them for phone calls.Audio quality wasn’t overly noticeable first time I used them, but they’re still top tier and perfect for listening especially with the equalizer and bass settings. No complaints whatsoever. An essential for everyone.

Perfection?
Ahhhh Sony, my favourite manufacturer, always a quality product no matter what. Deep unfettered bass that compliments the mids and highs, that's a given it s a quality sony sound signature. Some say too bassy, I dont find that at all, it's an extra bass product and it does not stray too far into the lower frequencies, but just enough to give you that night club feel. I could review these standing on my head sony just mic drop every product they do, so it could be easy to get complacent you would say, well....One gripe I have is that the noise cancellation falls well short of what I would expect at this price range, it is clear they do not want to tread on the toes of the more expensive xm3000's, and have toned down the performance somewhat. Which is fine these are cheaper ofcourse but they've toned it down too much, too such a point that it doesn't compete with older cans like the sennheiser hd4.50bt's. Which is a shame because everything else about these, design, comfort, usability are close to their older more expensive sibling.Sure the chassis is made of a slightly grained cheaper plastic but for me these things look cooler than the xm3's they dont have the god awful jut out at the bottom of the earpiece, it's just straight and minimal. Cool sony logos on each side of the headband, Alexa and google assistant support, excellent call quality. The sound is not for all types of music, it doesn't suit say, classical or jazz, but I guessing that's not the target audience. Yeah they are for dance and hip hop lovers, they say they can accept hd codecs, maybe im spoilt but it doesnt seem clear enough to me but then again I'm comparing with far der more expensive cans.Look heres the deal, if you want a fun, perfectly formed excellently engineered product at a price range that fits most pockets then you cant go wrong, it's not audiophile level quality but it is a punchy and fun sound house, I have a blast with these on so that tells you the story just get em and enjoy em, oh yeah great for gaming too, just the right amount of zing and pop for those explosions. Bit of a closed soundstage though but yeah I'm getting tangled up in my own headphone cable here.Sony your my God....remember that.Peace out my lovely review reading peoples, enjoy your product!

A great work horse
First impression was great, I used the NC in the house and was impressed how it did help to reduce the background noise. But after a short while, I had climatised to the level of sound and the NC seemed like it was not there. I would refer the NC as noise reduction, not cancellation. The more expensive Sony WH-1000 XM3's have a better cancelling function, but are well over £100 more. Still not sure it is worth the further ton.The sound quality however is amazing. Clear, crisp and with DSEE, you have some great sound code. The additional bass in this model is fantastic... if you like bass. It doesn't distort the overall experience, it enhances some tracks that has some deeper tones you didn't even know we're there. Connectivity is great too, I can walk around my solid built apartment and not get any Bluetooth drop off, allowing me to leave the phone in one room whilst pausing, changing track and even asking Google to like a song on Spotify without having to touch my phone.Battery life is second to none, I am so accustomed to other Bluetooth devices dying after a few days, that I have carried a charger with me. No need anymore. I have managed two trips to London and another to Manchester and still have 50% battery left. I don't know how, but I'm not going to question the battery Gods.Overall, these headphones are a delight. The NC isn't the best, but this issue quickly pales in to comparison when you hear the sound, use the actually easy gesture controls (don't understand why people say it's so complicated) and the comfort these offer. Have had them on for hours at a time and no ear ache etc.I will most likely have these for the next couple of years, but will most likely go back to Sony when I need another pair I'm sure in a few years time, they will still be the best.

Love these.
Previous to using these I was using some in ear bluetooth earphones which cost about £35 I loved them but after using my headphones more at home I got used to heavier bass and wanted that experience in work and on the go. I was initially a bit cautious of spending a decent whack of cash on headphones but I'm so glad I did because I don't have a single negative thing to say about them. These are the only noise cancelling headphones I've used so I can't compare them to others in that regard but it is really interesting how they block out/muffle outside noises, I work with machinery and it really makes a difference, it does not magically mute everything but it drastically reduces it.The sound itself is brilliant for me, listening to mostly bass heavy music I have bass cranked all the way up and it never seems to be distorted or wrong sounding, they're great for hip hop, drum n bass and dance music. Listened to a fair bit of classical too and that sounds fine, sure you may be missing some subtle notes you'd get in more mid range focused headphones but these are fine. Especially used in conjunction with the sony headphone app you can alter everything via your phone!Battery life is amazing, heavy usage will get me through a week sometimes just shy of a week, charging takes upto 6 hours for a full charge which isn't an issue at all for me. USB C charging also which is a major plus.Looks and feel is all spot on doesn't feel cheap anywhere and the touch pad on the earcup is marvellous, allowing play pause with a double tap of your finger, skip with a swipe volume up by moving up and down. Also a cool feature is placing your hand over the right ear will lower your music and noise cancelling will amplify the outside so you can hear talking. Just like your hold your hand to your ear to hear better, it's a great little feature.Highly recommend these and one of the best purchases I've made.

Best headphones I have ever owned
I am an audiophile, there is no doubt about it, it is very difficult for me to find satisfaction in the sound quality of headphones or a sound system. But these headphones are by far the best I've heard. It says extra bass, but honestly I'd say it has the right amount of bass, just more than the average person would experience. The clarity of sound is spectacular, and it is not one bit muffled or tinny. You can use them to listen to music, watch movies with a better experience, I even use them for playing games on my PC, and it is an amazing experience. The sound cancelling on them is absolutely amazing, we had the plumbers around to rebuild our bathroom and they had noisy power tools and hammers and such, and the headphones blocked everything. They're amazing! And, they are so so comfortable to wear, you can wear them for very long periods of time without it hurting in the slightest, they sit very well on my head. And the ear cups when you first put them on feel so nice, because of the cooling pad technology. My brother has even said that they are the best headphones he has ever heard too!I highly recommend, they are amazing for the price that they are. I would think of these as worth £200+ rather than £100.The battery life is really good, they do not lie. And the touch controls on the side work very well, they are not a trashy gimick.Amazing headphones, would buy again. Thank you Sony 👍

Absolutely amazing!
Absolutely love these!! Great quality and cool design. Feels really comfy on and I can wear them for a long time without feeling any discomfort. Sound quality is class! I’d read reviews online that said the bass is too much on these so I was a little worried about that but I’m not sure why that’s being said as I really love the bass on them, doesn’t feel like too much to me, maybe personal preference. But either way you can easily adjust the EQ on the Sony app so if you did find the default set is too much bass it’s easily adjusted. But for me the sound is amazing on these! For the price these are flipping great and I don’t think you’ll find a better pair for the price. You get a lot for your money and the noise cancelling works great too. The touch controls on the right ear cup are fun and easy to use. Easy Bluetooth connection to my iPhone and MacBook. I was to save up for the WH1000mx3 but they were just outta budget so if you’re like me and can’t afford the extra £100+ for them, you’ll not be disappointed with these ones. These are my first pair of Sony’s and previous headphones I’ve had were skullcandy uproar and ITx7s so these are a massive upgrade for me and well worth the money.

Comfort and sound is the best
I've been on a long journey amongst wireless headphones to find a set that I actually love. With these Sony XB900's , I've finally arrived at my destination. Had the 1000' 3's before. Not very comfortable and the sound was too neutral for my ears to enjoy, even with adjustments to the app. Tried most budget wireless headphones : Bluedio, Mpow and even latest Edifier ( which are very good considering the price) However, the budget brands were exactly that. Cheap and not always cheerful. The XB900's are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. No pressure points on top of my receding head and no discomfort with the ear pads ( The 1000' 3's are not as big or as comfortable. Yes, I got a little sweat from the pads, but I got that from Denons lambs skin leather pads on the D7200 (Wired) anyway. The noise cancellation works perfect, drowning out almost everything. The ambient sound control also is a nice touch that works reasonably well too. With the Sony app, I've found the best setting for my personal tastes is the bright feature. This brings out the mids and highs in a very detailed manner whilst still giving me the solid, but not bloated bass that I like. Much better control over sound than the 1000'3's. Using Poweramp app on my phone, I've set my equalizer to a V shape which suits me fine. Side swipe/ up and down commands work spot on. Only gripe is that you don't get a case like the 1000'3's, but bought a second hand one (known auction site ;-) for the 1000'3's which incidentally, the XB900'S fit in perfectly, see photo. Don't know about battery life yet, but will update at a later stage. I must admit that I was dubious about the positive reviews from Vine freeloaders, but they are correct. Im a verified purchaser and if I wasn't happy, I'd let people know. I'm absolutely delighted with these and at last my journey is over, but the music begins!
