Updated Review
I have been using the sensor for 9 months. When I originally purchased it there was a compatibility issue with my android phone and the Bluetooth version that my phone uses. Because of this compatibility issue I was unable to calibrate the sensor. If you can't calibrate the sensor, the information it provides may not be accurate. For me, and probably most people, if you are obsessed with knowing details about your cadence, having accurate information is important. My original experience was not good.Thankfully Polar has updated the firmware for my watch, the Polar M400, and I am able to calibrate the sensor using the watch.I have experienced discrepancies when I attach the sensor to a different pair of shoes than the shoes it was attached to when I calibrated the sensor. For example I calibrated the sensor to match the distance my treadmill displays. At the end of 3.1 miles on the treadmill the sensor indicated 3.05 miles. After attaching the sensor to a different pair of shoes, at the end of a 3.1 mile run on the treadmill, the sensor indicated 3.2 miles. This is probably not a problem with the sensor but it may be sensitive to changes in placement or differences in shoes. The really great feature for me is the ability to capture treadmill sessions using the sensor, the M400 watch, and the Polar Flow app. After 9 months the original battery is still working and the sensor reliably pairs with the watch. With the updated firmware for the Polar M400 watch the sensor performs well.

Does what it's supposed to do!
I'm satisfied with it. The difficult part was calibrating it to work with the iCardio app which I prefer for workouts over the Polar Beat app. I use it when I run indoors on the treadmill, like I said with the iCardio app I'm able to see my current pace, speed, distance and percent of max heart rate which is why I use it with the iCardio app. Believe it or not I use it along side (opposite foot) the Garmin Footpod which is Ant+ while the Polar Stride Sensor is Bluetooth smart which gives me more options of apps to use with my iPhone 7.

Pairs easy to Polar Beats
Pairs easy to Polar Beats. It takes some getting used to on calibrating it. I recommend you use map my fitness to check your distance or a treadmill. Took 6 workouts to get it to figure out my stride. Which is fine.+Now I don't need to use the GPS on my phone, I can use an iPod touch and leave the phone at home for distance.+Connects well to the shoe. And it doesn't add any real weight unless your shoe is a minimalist you would feel it then-In an age of GPS enabled devices it's less needed. I at one point was confused why I bought it. Then realised I have an older iPod Touch I'D rather lose than my phone-Takes time to calibrate-only comes with one shoe adapter. Wish it came with 2

I love my stride sensor for walking, running and hiking. 50 pounds down so far!
This is a must have for those who like to track their walks/runs and use a treadmill. I have been using mine for over a month now and have had no issues and I am still on the original battery. I use it with the Digifit app.

This sensor works well with my Polar M400 running watch as well as with my iphone for other apps. My main complaint is the size. Compared to similar functioned ANT+ units this thing is quite large. It's not heavy, just bigger in form factor.
