CZYTAJ krok po kroku 1

This book is a "reader" that works along with the textbook. The stories are 2 pages long but contain lots of vocabulary and phrases. It is a welcome break from the text book. The end of every story contains exercises to test your comprehension; there is an answer key. After every two chapters there is a vocabulary review. Each story contains new vocabulary and those words are listed on the side of the paragraph in which it is used, along with their English definitions. That is not to say you will not have to look up additional vocabulary to understand the story. The audio files can be downloaded for listening and learning pronunciation. If you are not in a Polish language class or do not have a Polish tutor, these books might not be for you. Polish is a difficult language that very often needs explanation from an instructor. I find the book very helpful.

Great to listen to and read along. Great book for someone who is beginning down the Polish language rabbit hole. I personally noticed that reviewing the same story numerous times allowed me to learn more and more. I started to pay attention to various case changes and began to get to the point that they sounded correct to me. Stories in this are written on a A1 level and easily understood with a basic knowledge of Polish. Some words are more complex yet a translation is provided on the side to make it easier. Again, using the online audio recordings while reading along was a tremendous help.

If you are using the Krok po Kroku Polish text, you will find that not all the unfamiliar words used in a lesson in Czytaj are listed. I wish there was a better correspondence between the dictionary list and the words not used in Krok. It's a disadvantage to stop to look up vocabulary when the book features a vocab list with each story. But you do have downloadable stories. Inane but for an adult beginner still helpful in learning the language. Have been working a few stories on my own to catch up to where my class will start.

A must-have to go along with Krok po Kroku. Readings really help put it all together.

Very interesting stories. Good Vibes. Using a lot of polish words that resemble English words which helps the beginner to read. Recommended!

Easy to read and has English translations, which I find very helpful.

Zu allererst: Ich schreibe als Sprachlehrer, der Polnischkurse leitet. Ich Nutze dieses Buch als zusätzliche Lektüre im Polnischkurs. Die Teilnehmer*innen sind begeistert. Der bereits erlernte Wortschatz wird hier durch neue Vokabeln ergänzt. Perfekt als Klassenlektüre, vorausgesetzt man hat bereits die Lektionen 1 - 7 aus dem Lehrbuch „Kork po Kroku“ erlernt und wirklich gut geübt! Die Kurzgeschichten an sich sind gelungen: spannend und unterhaltsam zugleich. Auch die anschließenden Aufgaben sind gut, da sie sich auf den Inhalt der jeweiligen Geschichte beziehen. Außerdem wird hier auch nochmals auf die Grammatik eingegangen, sodass man diese immer im Kopf behält.
