Trekology Trek-Z Hiking Trekking Poles, Walking Stick for Men, Women, 2pc

Purchased these to use for the Camino de Santiago. Trip began in St Jean Pied de Port and went 7 weeks to Santiago de Compostela. OMG! I did not realize how much I really needed these. Upon our first day started using them and really helped me for balance. As the days continued and we climbed mountains and hills, the poles were a great support. I am 5’2” and was able to adjust them for my right. Great versatility and sturdiness. Material is good and it y was able to hold my weight of 120 lbs. the poles were easy to collapse and put together. They folded down into my backpack easily and also was able to put them in the suitcase. They did well walking through the Pyrenees, steps, gravel and dirt. They are lightweight and will be taking them in my climb up the pyramid next year.

The TREKOLOGY Trek-Z hiking poles have completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I took them out of the package, I could tell they were built with real attention to detail. I couldn’t be happier with the Trek-Z poles. They offer a great balance of quality, comfort, and value. The Trekology Trek-Z I bought for hiking. They are light weight, fills like aluminum with a cork well fingered grip. They come with multiple attachments for the bottom what they are for I have no clue. Im telling you this because you thats right "you" reading this are going to ask me. The body of the pole slides in and out and have a locking mechanism at the top to adjust to your height. this mechanism could be challenging for some. The body pulls apart you have to be careful when you pull them apart, I did and I broke an attachment inside. Its still usable I just got to push the end in all the way now before I use it. My Bad also when you adjust to pole frequently the sliding action will take the pain off the outside. So I gave them 4 stars because there was no way of knowing about an internal attachment which I broke. I use these polls everyday in mountain hiking and they don't bend or break. Trekology Trek-Z polls are very reliable and do recommend them, have fun.

LOVE these poles. Bought a set for me and my husband and we have no complaints. We took these to Europe with us and climbed some pretty steep hills and mountains. They always felt sturdy even for my husband who is much bigger than myself. They collapse down small enough to fit easily inside a standard backpack or a small carry-on suitcase. They were very easy to open up and foldup. When you extend them, they snap securely into place and feel completely rigid and sturdy—no loose rattling or shifting, even on steep, uneven terrain. They are also great for just walking around the neighborhood if you are feeling a little unsteady. The cork like handles are incredibly comfortable. Unlike cheap plastic or rubber grips that get slick and slimy, these keep your hands dry and sweat-free even when it is hot outside. The built-in straps are a must have. They give you extra leverage while pushing uphill and ensure you won't accidentally drop a pole down a ridge if you lose your footing. The included carry bag is real bonus! At the end of a muddy hike, you can just slide the dirty poles into the bag and toss the whole thing right back into your suitcase or backpack.

After much research I decided on these poles and am so happy I did. For a mid 70's lady with bad knees these work great! It's like having two hands to hold onto. They are balanced and intuitive to use right off the bat. Easy to put together and adjust to the proper height. Very well made, nice looking and sturdy. I use them for both walking in our uneven ground in the forest and city sidewalks and asphalt streets. I feel much more safe on my walks now and these poles are a real pleasure to use.Apart from how pleased I am with these poles the customer service is very prompt, nice and helpful. I highly recommend these poles!

I am in my late 70s, 4’11” , minimal weight and still active and want to travel to areas that have uneven terrain and challenging activities. I needed a better pole than the budget ones I have had for years that were heavy and didn’t fold up and pack well. I also had a recent increase in arthritis pain in one knee only. Fortunately, it was not requiring surgery . Working closely with my Orthopedic Dr. and a rehabilitation specialist I came to seek out wonderful information on how to adjust and use poles properly to stay out of pain !!!!!!!! while hiking and walking . I am a person who doesn’t want to take pain meds . I can , but would prefer not to. I am currently receiving injections but it is not certain if it will help . In the meantime, not wanting to stop traveling or being active , I did a great deal of research , watched videos and purchased these “Trekology Z hiking poles.” They are lightweight, very packable and extremely comfortable and easy to use. For me, they are a ultimate lifesaver! well made and fit my budget, activities , lifestyle and minimalist packing goals. They are extremely well made and sturdy. Thank you Trekology for recognizing there are seniors who are still active! Update Did some serious trekking on lava rock paths while in Galapagos, wow , This did not fail to impress. packed well, no security problems and I was really pleased.

Nite: this review is of the version 1 pole set. I've logged hundreds of miles with these poles over the last two years, and they've exceeded my expectations. Part of me has been waiting for them to die so I can justify getting a sexier pair, but they just keep going strong! My hiking buddy has gone through two of the expensive pairs in less time than I've had these. After his last carbon fiber pair cracked on the Long Trail, I decided to give these a review. The cons first: Weight - These are heavier than many expensive alternatives. Personally, I've never found the extra few ounces in my arms to be a problem. If I was carrying them in my pack, that might be a different story. Nevertheless, for the ounce/gram counters this is a drawback. Attachments - The basket tip-attachments broke on my first hike with these poles. The threads on the shaft are still intact, so I could just use a different set, but I've never felt a need to do so. In muddy or snowy conditions they would be helpful, but not necessary. Besides, I've seen the attachments break on far more expensive poles, too. It's a pretty common design flaw. The Grips - these look like cork, but they're not. They can get slimy after many miles, which is unpleasant. This is probably true of most solid grips--regardless of the brand. I don't hold this against the Trekkology poles. The Cables - I've noticed that the cables may now be a little stretched out on my poles. This isn't a big deal because they're still taught enough to hold the poles firmly together under average conditions. However, when the poles get stuck in the ground, they'll stretch apart at the joints as you pull them out. Not so far that the poles come apart, but far enough to make a loud click as they spring back together. Not a big con in my mind. The Pros: Durability - these have held up over hundreds of miles of intense use. They've gotten caught in between rocks and roots, stuck deep in the mud, and battered endlessly. At this point, they're scratched and the straps are a bit frayed, but they're as reliable as ever. Strength - I can easily put my full weight on these poles (165 lbs). I've relied on them to get through some seriously hairy obstacles, and they've never let me down. Straps - the straps are made out of a soft seatbelt-like material, and they're comfortable and strong. I wrap the straps around my hands when I use poles, and I use them for leverage. As you can see from the picture, they're a bit frayed now, but that's only after a lot of use. I still trust the straps to hold my weight, and they haven't disappointed me. The straps are more comfortable than some of the heavier, woven and padded varieties I've seen. Fittings - the shaft clamps and locks are solid and strong. They've never slipped or loosened on me. Conclusion: For the price, I recommend these poles. You'd be hard-pressed to find a set anywhere near this price point that's as durable and well-designed. They may not carry the fancy name, but they work well.

These are very decent folding trekking poles for a reasonable price as far as I can tell - but many people don't appear to read or understand the instructions well (watching YT video helps) and leave negative reviews, which I think is not always deserved. The pole has a total of 5 sections: main fixed part (with grips), 2nd extendible part that slides into the main part (for adjustable length), held in place with a squeeze clip, and 3 fixed folding sections of which the upper section slides into the extendible part above. These need to be unfolded and extended to their maximum length and locked in place (at fixed length) with a click button. A cable runs through the 4 sections that as a whole can be removed from the main section. If you don't set this up right, sections may seem loose or broken, but that happens if something is really broken inside. I think this risk is similar for other folding poles that I have been comparing, and there might also be issues with the button that some complain collapses inside the pole. The quality of all parts can vary between various brands, but these Trekology poles seem pretty good to me and I like the color blue. Unfortunately I need to return them, because the grip is EVA foam, made to look like cork, and not real cork (which is what I want). The loops are thinner and more flexible than other poles so they are softer but it is harder to get your hands through them. The cable through the poles is thicker than in other poles. I would have kept these poles if it weren't for the EVA grips.

Works very well and folds up to very small and fits in suitcase but a) difficult to assemble b) if not perfectly assembled it is inclined to slide up and down

Portable yet Sturdy. Rugged Material and good length (i bought 135cm version). Also it's light weight. Excellent addition to my gear.

MAterailes muy ligeros y resistentes. Esteticamente destacable. Muy Facil de armar en 2 sencillos pasos. Solo se necesita ver algun video de armado ya que , practicamente no hay que hacer nada solo conectar un extremo con otro y que los seguros de sujeción se ajusten correctamente.

Many trekking poles are so similar that I didn't know why some are so expensive while others are relatively cheap. These particular poles were mid range in terms of cost but the quality of the poles seems quite high. They come with a nice variety of accessories for various terrain (snow, ice, mud, gravel, rock.) The one thing that drew me to choose these was the fact that they fold down into a small enough format to fit in a backpack or suitcase. This is a feature that I found in only more expensive poles. The cheaper poles fold down only as far as 25" or 26" which likely doesn't fit in a carry on suitcase.

I wasn't to sure what to expect from these but my wife needed some new poles and for $50 I thought I'd give these a try. These things are AWESOME, very well built, lightweight and collapse very small. Save your money and no need to buy Expensive Black Diamond poles because these are perfect at a fraction of the cost. I'll most likely be picking a pair up for myself as well.
