Travel Select Amsterdam Business Rolling Garment Bag, Softside Expandable Rolling 2-Wheeled Suit Carrier, Gray, One Size

I own this bag in red. I purchased it about six years ago and have average about 4 trips per year with it. I am currently shopping for its replacement. Let me explain the things I love about it. I bought this as part of a patched set and appreciate this in my search of the baggage carousel. The bag’s construction is sturdy and the contents are well protected. There are cubbies or pouches in the most protected corners for safe storage of breakables; they WORK. It is spacious enough to hold a week’s worth of hanging clothes and still have room for everything else I need on a weeklong trip (shoes, toiletries, small clothes, chargers/cables, etc.). The interior shows no wear after 6 years of use all internal parts work as well today as the day I bought it. The telescoping handle is sturdy enough to work well with this bag and a carry-on bag attached to it. It extends to a comfortable height and does a good job controlling the bag while rushing to make a flight. The wheels likewise are large enough to roll well, even in the under-construction airports & airport parking lots which seem to litter our continent. This handle telescoped completely and stores inside a zippered pocket. This garment bag came with handles, a should strap, and the telescoping handle. Here are the things I would change about this piece of luggage. The design is such that when it falls over, it always false face down on the only colorful part of the bag. It makes the luggage one more anonymous black bag on the airport carousel. This also puts the most textured and decorative portion of the bag the side baggage handlers use to slide the bag, which has resulted in much wear and actual tear to the “Nice” side of the bag. The first trip I used the bag the shoulder strap broke. Looking at it later, the swivel snap portion seemed to be formed from a lesser quality metal than the other pieces of the strap and this is what broke. In all fairness I believe this was a quality control error made by the subcontractor from whom they purchased the hardware and not a reflection on Travel Select’s design or manufacture. I have used this bag more than any other in the set. I use it for business travel and vacation travel. It is more worn than any other piece in the set, as is should be. The positives far outweigh the negatives, and it is my “Go-to” luggage. If I could, I would change a few things about this garment bag. They are making this bag for a variety of people with a variety of needs and travel styles, so I would not try to correct the balance issue with the bag falling on its “Face”. I would make the entire bag the same color on all sides, I would select a less textured clothe (while it looks great, it snags on everything in baggage handling), make the metal tubing of the collapsible handle one gauge thicker, and add a check of hardware quality before using it on the luggage. In my current search for a replacement, I may end up buying a new copy of what I already own.

I had a nice garment bag for years that finally broke the zippers and wore out so I threw it away and I bought this bag by Travel Select. Plus my old bag had only a shoulder strap and it was getting too heavy to carry. So the new Travel Select Rolling suit bag is perfect and holds almost everything you need on a trip and you could put your travel kit in a smaller carryon and stow it under or up top. The rollers on the Travel Select make it easy to move around the airport even if full at 50# and seem well made. Just took it to GA, worked well. It holds suits, shirts, pants, 2 pair shoes, pockets for socks/undergarments, sleeves for docs, nice hook for when you're there, and rolls flawlessly. Pretty sturdy for occasional travelers and regular daily fliers can speak for themselves. Excellent hidden handle, easy ID, sturdy hook for hanged items. Folded in half for rolling it sits up straight at check-in/out and doesn't fall over. Might not be strong enough to endure rough baggage thrower/loaders in some countries other than USA, but should last a long time. Great value when compared to over-priced garment bags, some without wheels. 5*

I would give it 5 stars if it were a tri-fold garment bag but its not. We loaded lots of formal clothes for a cruise in this garment bag and they were wrinkle free! The fact that it is a rolling garment bag makes this even nicer and more airport friendly! I will say though that I did get a couple of looks from AA airport employees because it is a bit larger than a normal carry on item but they didnt say anything. I cant say if its 100% carry on compliant but no one stopped me(I have seen duffel bags twice as big being taken as carry-on so I wasnt worried). I am disappointed because it doesnt fit mens dress shoes very well. I was able to find some spots for them but it wasnt ideal. Womens heels(1shoe in each) fit great in the zip pockets on top. It is very durable because I had attached another bag that didnt have wheels to it and it carried it nicely. It is very smooth and rolls like a dream. We had this bag as a carry on and had it checked for 2 flights and it still looks new. Overall its a great bag at a great price.

Size was perfect. Worked as advertised. Not a carry on for sure. Great quality.

This is an amazing roller board suit bag. My husband has used it multiple times including international travel. Fits a lot, I mean a lot of clothing! It is on the large larger size so if you are on a very small plane, you might need to gate check it. Otherwise, it does fit in the overhead bins of larger planes. It hasn’t been a problem for us and the functionality of the bag outweighs all of that in our opinion.

The suitcase is the correct shape, opens logically for arranging suits and dresses and even has two zippered corner pockets for small stuff. There are two side pockets which I assume are intended for shoes. But I found them too small for a men's US size 11 shoe. A women's high heel would definitely not fit. The big problem though, was the strap that holds the clothing down when you fold up the suitcase. Although I only had two men's suits and one ladies dress on flat hangers, you can see from the picture that the strap is already tearing loose from its attachment point. It is not enough for me to go to all the trouble of returning and replacing it. It was relatively inexpensive (under $40) and the likelihood that a replacement would have the same problem seems high. In my opinion, that strap is a critical part of the product and when it breaks I'm going to have to figure out something else to act in its place. A minor item is the hook that allows the entire suitcase to hang in a closet in the unfolded position. It is a hook attached by a short chain to a dog leash style buckle. There is no way to store it without removing it and putting ti in the suitcase until you need it. Taking it on and off is not only inconvenient, but a risk for loss. My old valet suitcase had a snapped flap on the outside that would hold the hook when not in use. On a positive note, I liked (and used) the outside belt that makes it convenient to attach another suitcase. So if you are willing to take a chance with the strap, possibly lose the hook and don't mind not having big enough shoe pockets, go for it!

This was a perfect luggage for our needs.Wife's dress and my suit had no wrinkles when opened after the flight. Held a lot of clothing and shoes easily. Liked those zippered corners. used them for dirty clothing. Best suitcase for travel I have bought in a long time.

If you're a casual flyer, get this bag! If you're a professional racking up air miles, you're not even reading this right now. As opposed to another review I read, it DOES have an internal hanger (see note below) and it IS long enough to put a suit for a 6 foot dude! I haven't flown since 2004 and my company, for which I've worked for a year and a half, flew me down to Atlanta, GA from Raleigh, NC; a short one hour flight. I've never needed a garment bag, because every time I've flown, it was leisure. I had to pack at least one suit, a business outfit for my wife, and some shirts and I didn't know it until I had about 36 hours until departure. I ordered it on Monday evening with delivery for Wednesday and me departing on Thursday morning, first thing. Thankfully, it made it on time - yes, I was worried. Now, will this bag make it for the professional business traveler? I seriously doubt it. However, I don't think that's the purpose for this bag. If you need a bag for a once in six months, once a year, or even more sparse, I say this is THE bag! It's fifty freaking dollars! It worked like a charm! The external hanger is built of sufficient construction and strength. That being said, the internal hanger IS NOT built of sufficient strength. But, who cares? Because if you use the horizontal strap, the clothes aren't going anywhere and will not fall, because they can't. The clothes hangers WILL come out of the hanger. That is the ONLY bad thing about this bag, but for $50 I will still give it a 5 STAR rating because what do you expect? For $50, which was a gamble on my part buying it "sight unseen," I expected it to have other cheap defects, but it doesn't have the defects. The wheels are great and the retractable handle is nice and tall. If you're a casual flyer, get this bag! If you're a professional racking up air miles, you're not even reading this right now.
