This is a truly great scooter - the best peadal scooter you can buy - by far! Much safer than small wheel scooters that are VERY dangerous to use outdoors. This has pneumatic tires and can be ridden off-road on grass which means it is also great on rough sidewalks. It is also very fast. I am 165 lbs., 5 ft 10 in tall and can ride no problem, it is very sturdy. Kids also love riding it. I don't understand the complaint about hurting ankles, these are rubber caps that come with it to out on the rear axles to protect you, then you just learn quickly how to pedal without striking the scooter. Brakes work well but must be carefully set up or won't work. You need to read instructions and know how to adjust brakes or watch a YouTube video. There is no other scooter in the market in this class anymore. This is the kind they had when I was a child, but even better! I'm a mechanical engineer and I seriously approve of the design. If you have a bike, get one of these too for some variety of exercise and fun! Bought to keep up with my daughter when we took off her training wheels but can still help her over curbs and getting started while on my scooter. Now all the cousins want one too and will get two more for Christmas!

This was a great purchase for my son. Obviously, the manufacturer listened to all of the reviews that complained about the scooter arriving scratched or missing parts. Mine arrived packaged like it was bomb proof. It takes a few minutes to get everything unpacked and ready for assembly. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all together and adjusted. I am very mechanically inclined and have a ton of tools so for me this was nothing, but if you are not as confident you may wish to have someone else assemble it for you. Basically, you put on the handle bars, the wheels, and hook up the brakes and adjust them. The wheels take about 30 seconds each. I had one wheel that had the conventional keeper clips on it, and the other wheel came with plastic keeper bushings. The instructions did not reference this but a little studying and intuition told me that the conventional clips were to be used on the front wheel and the plastic keeper bushings fit into recesses in the rear wheel frame mounting surfaces. Remember that. Adjusting bicycle style brakes can be a real pain but these went pretty good. I suggest squeezing the calipers snug to the rim and taking up as much slack as possible with the cable pinch-bolt that is on the caliper itself first, and then using the adjuster screw at the lever for the final adjustment. My son can stop on a dime now. I am almost 300lbs and I took it for a spin around the cul-de-sac and it worked great. This should last a kid or normal sized adult a lot of years. My son is 6 and he is just big enough to use it. I wouldn't suggest it for much younger than that. The handle bars adjust up and down about 4 inches or so. Instructions are pretty good and can talk you through most of the assembly. For the price, you cannot get a better machine on the market. Very pleased.

My son loves the sturdiness and features of this Mongoose scooter! He bought it with his own money and wanted something he could manage as he is a tad smaller for his age. I like it because he can grow with it too and it has full swivel handle bars. The only thing I can say (as to why it didn't garner 5 stars from me), is because of the packaging. It took my husband about 20 extra minutes and a lot of heart ache to fix this scooter when it arrived to us slightly damaged due to the factory packaging (as best we can tell it was an unopened box). The reason being is that one of the handle break lines had been pulled down into the steering column so tightly that it was not apparent it was part of the bike. My husband is very mechanically inclined and he finally figured out the steel line had pulled so tight that the end nub was jammed in there and he was able to extract it (mostly undamaged.) Then we noticed the paint on the handle bars was damaged where the bars lock on to the steering column and that the steering column was not aligned properly. We both think this was due to the poor packaging design used at the factor. There was too much plastic and zip ties that did nothing. If they would change it to some sort of cardboard mold to hold the parts they could ensure the product isn't so damaged in the jostling of shipping. My two cents. Still Mongoose has always been a quality brand since we were kids. With all that, still a 4-5 star product that works great and will last a long time. Well worth the price! Kudos!

Easy set up. Rides great. I recommend you buy replacement inner tubes. Tire popped on like the third day of riding.

Bought this for our 10 year old granddaughter. She absolutely loves it and takes it now wherever she used to bike. Her bike was getting a little too small for her and she isn't quite tall enough for an adult bike - but will be by age 12. This looked like a good alternative to get her through a few years without having to shell out a lot of money for a sturdy in-between bike for such a short time span. Turns out she likes this better than bike riding and the fact it will grow with her and can be ridden by adults really appeals to us and her. This scooter was a little confusing for my son-in-law and husband to put together at first, but it only took them about 40 minutes. It seems to be very sturdy and solid. The grand likes the extra foot space it offers compared to her friends scooters and is enjoying a bit of their envy. They all want to ride hers. She said she switched with her friend the other day and his scooter was awful, she felt every crack in the sidewalk on it and there wasn't enough room for her size 5 foot. She also likes the hot pink color!! PERFECT GIFT and it was delivered really fast!!!!

La calidad del scooter es muy buena el diseño se ve bastante llamativo y en general se mueve muy fluido en el. A mi hijo le gustó mucho. Y los materiales se ven resistentes ya que en una ocasión lo use y no mostró signos de que se forzará. Las llantas son de aire y ayuda bastante a amortiguar los saltos y los inconvenientes en el camino.

Brought it out to the park and it was an absolute head turner. Had kids asking their parents what it was? Was it a kick scooter or a bicycle? Or both? Good on most terrain, smooth and fast but I do not think it is meant for adults. It’s too short for me and im at 5”4. A real pity as I would have wanted it for myself. Otherwise, it will make a great gift for a child.
