Love the look and sturdiness of these bags, but man do they smell. I have zero interest putting groceries in them, and the smell doesn't seem to be fading.

This bag is very well made and handsome. The burlap and canvas construction is attractive and functional. I like the stiff piece that fits into the bottom for carrying things that could tip. I also like that the inside is plasticized or waxed to give it a bit of water resistance for carrying things that may have some condensation on them, like gallons of cold milk or frozen foods that are sweating. I haven't had it long enough to know how durable it is. My only thought for improvement is that the brown handles - which are handsome - would be webbing instead of faux leather. I don't know how that would change the price, but webbing might feel better in your hand. It's a beautiful tote. I'm glad I bought it. Great for a gift too!

Ok these really did seem great, sturdily built, right sized, classic style but....After two weeks airing outside they were still off gassing. Yikes! Maybe if I wasn't putting food in them I wouldn't have minded but I just couldn't bring myself to put groceries in something that 2 weeks later reeked like cheap plastic.
