Does not work.
Did not like this product. It mounted fairly easily. It filled the trigger guard, so much so that I had very little room for my finger to pull the trigger. I could only use the tip of my finger. Within one or two shots, the light attached was pointing down, no longer on target.

Avoid at all cost!!!
When I got this item I was initially pleased with the fit on my 1911. That is where everything went downhill. First, the opening that remained for my finger within the trigger guard was so small I almost couldn't get my finger in. Second, once I had the screws in and tried to place the attachment onto the rail I found out the rail is to wide and the attachment won't go on at all. Third, once I realized I wasn't going to be able to use the adapter I tried to removed it, but the screws are so cheap that one of them was stripped and I had to break the adapter to get it off the firearm. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!! I would have given this zero stars, but I am required to put at least one, so in this case 1=0.

Definitely not for a .45. A .22 caliber might have better luck.
After two or three shots I noticed my laser was pointed at a 45° angle between the barrel and the ground. With nothing to secure the rail section to the frame, aside from maybe loctite, I do not recommend this for a .45 acp. I imagine a .22 1911 would not have this same issue. Installation was quick and easy, though if you are wearing gloves you might have issues getting your finger on the trigger. Recover is a company I will not give my business to, so this was a bit of a let down.

Will not fit Rock Island G1 standard. Some filling is going to be needed for this particular model

This didn't work for me. Shot my kimber w laser added and after 2 shots it didn't stay in place
