HOLOSUN Magnifier Series- 3X(HM3X) / 6X (HM6X) Flip-to-Side QD Mount

Overview: This is a magnifier for use behind a red dot optic and I suspect a holographic type as well but I didn’t have one available Intended usage and suitability to task: I wanted a magnifier for use behind a trijicon MRO optic. I find that target precision is difficult with my aging eyes beyond 100 yards. The magnifier had to be at least 3x , have a good mount included and be weatherproof. This was not to be in place all the time so a quick release mount would be preferable. Glass clarity was important as it was the main reason for getting one. Eye relief had to be around 3 inches for my setup Function/appearance/ operation : The unit seems well made. It’s about average in weight compared to the others I had seen ( vortex, primary arms ) the mount was usable and flips to the right which I prefer. Several hard wiggles did not flip it which is nice as I don’t want it flopping around. The glass was clear and I did not notice any odd color casting. I was able to adjust the focus ring easily with glasses and with them off so the range of adjustment was good for my eyes. The magnifier set up well behind my red dot and I did not have to do any adjustments with the vertical or horizontal adjustment. The one drawback with it is when the red dot and magnifier are in place there is no room to mount it if you wish to keep all in the receiver and have a rear backup sight. It was not an issue in my case as I use offset back up sights so it was not an issue. Overall I believe the price was reasonable and it was well made and suitable for its intended usage and if your use / need is similar to mine I can recommend this unit.

Great magnifier i have it paired with another HOLOSUN optic on my AR and have had ZERO issues with the setup clear sight picture easy QD mounting if you ever needed to quickly remove or attach it to your setup

Fantastic product from Holosun. Have at least 5 Holosun's (both red dots,green dots. This is my first Holosun 3xHMX. Good price, fantastic 1 day per Amazon. Easy to mount & adjust on a AR pistol build. Did not upset balance. Exceptional value as to cost, function, looks!

Honestly Holosun is such a great brand. You can get so much more without breaking the bank. It works great with my Eotech. Super clear view, easy to mount.

For an under $1000 optic, I'm very impressed. It is fully functional and pairs well with mid level red dot's that themselves have good quality glass and reticule. The sight picture is great, no diffraction or color splitting detected, very sharp image. They eye relief is quite sufficient and in line with more expensive optics. I had no trouble aligning with my red dots however it should be noted that not all risers are made to spec or even advertise their actual saddle height so might have to fiddle. The diopter adjustment is very fine, a tad stiff but thats good. The qd flip mount can be adjusted to what ever level of stiffness you want so no complaints are valid there. There is a 'lock' button on the backside of the mount (if set to flip to the right) that inhibits setting it right up to BUS mount so I had to grind the nut on the BUS just a tad, easy. Range time shows much improvement over red dot alone, beats the crap out of iron sights. For pairing a 3x with a micro red-dot instead of LPVO I can't imaging a better setup for under $1000

This 3x Magnifier is one of the better-rated online and, on inspection, it truly is excellent in its glass clarity, eye box and eye relief. The Flip-To-Side action is very positive with no wobble in either position. Well worth your consideration. I'm happy!

first I’ll preface this by saying my preferred setup is red dot with a magnifier behind it. I have both the Eotech G23 and the G33. One of them is behind and aimpoint micro while the other is behind an eotech exps3. On another rifle I’ve been using it has the MRO. I have a very slight astigmatism, it’s completely fine when using the red dot alone however, behind a magnifier it can definitely present some problems. With the MRO both the G23 and G33 magnifiers interacted with the dot terribly. Not only was it that typical smudge that you would see, one of them (G23) would smudge so bad there would almost be two dots visible in the glass. I’ve heard from a small handful of people that the holosun was eliminating the astigmatism problem. Now, while I know that simply shouldn’t be able to work like that I decided to give it a try for myself. To my surprise the 2moa dot in my MRO is crystal clear with the holosun, no smudge, no comet, nothing, it’s a perfect dot. I can’t explain to much as to why this is working like this but I’ll take it. For $200 it’s crystal clear glass, the body feels solid and the dot is actually a dot. The flip to side isn’t the best but it’ll do just fine. I’d definitely recommend this magnifier

This 3X magnifier is very well built and is made a quality materials. It matched perfectly with the Holosun 510c red dot. The default flip up/down mechanism is nice and solid and is adjustable if needed. I love that it could be reversed for the left handed people. Mounting screws have some locktite from the factory so if you need to flip it around use a good quality screwdriver of put the torx bit on a 1/4” or 3/8” ratchet, it will be much easier to remove without damaging. The 2 small torx screws could potentially get damaged if using the small tool provided. Unit fits perfectly on e Ruger 10/22 Competition. This magnifier is great for the price point.
