DEWALT Flap Disc, Zirconia, 4-1/2-Inch x 7/8-Inch, 80-Grit (DW8309)

This flap disc is the real deal. DEWALT slapped some zirconia grit on a wheel and basically handed you a surface-smoothing weapon of mass reduction. Whether you’re cleaning up welds, smoothing edges, or shaving down that "oops" cut you swore was straight—this thing handles it like a champ. Durability? Let’s just say it outlasted my attention span and my playlist. It cuts smooth, runs cool, and doesn’t shred itself to pieces halfway through a job like those bargain-bin brands. Put it on your grinder and let it work its magic. You’ll be turning rough steel into buttered toast in no time.

I used this along with an angle grinder to sharpen my lawn mower blades. It did a great job and I did not notice any damage to the disc after the job was done. I anticipate being able to reuse this disc for many more blade sharpenings. It was able to successfully sharpen the blade and I knew it was working from all the sparks that were generated at the time. I think this is a great value.

Purchased a 40 and 80 grit for a fiber glass repair on my boat. Quickly realized how versatile they are. Used to sharpen mower blades, sand wood and fiberglass, and for rust removal. These are much faster and thorough than wire brushes for rust and paint removal..not to mention safer. Were also almost half the price of Lowes and Home Depot. I use air and a stainless brush to clean. Highly recommend.

I haven't used other flap discs so I can't compare but I was pretty happy using it. It didn't last as long as I wanted which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I did order another one I liked it so much. I plan on trying other ones and comparing- after I do I might change this review. I used it to smooth out my terrible welding skills and it did great. I tried it on truck bedliner though and it heated it up too much. It turned it into wet tar and made it harder to take off. But I didn't get it for that anyways. Works great on metal.

Excellent quality and durability The price was a bargain for what you can get out of this grinner blade/disc

We grind alot of stainless and these cut good and last a long time ,better than a standard grind wheel.

These work great. They don't damage wood and really strip the varnish without gumming up

Have only used once and they do a good job sharpening mower blades.

Lo pedí ya que tenia q lijar algunos tablones de madera, me encantó como se desmpeño, al inicio al tener el grano nuevo es más abrasivo, pero conforme se va utilizando disminuye su abrasivo.

Es un disco para pulidora de 4 1/2, cumple su función, por lo que si lo recomiendo
