It helps protect jellyfish stings
I spend my winter in Florida but since last year I have started getting a terrible reaction to jellyfish. I was so disappointed about not being able to go into the ocean again. This product has definitely helped. Itโs a very heavy sunscreen that I put all over my torso under the bathing suit and it seems to work.

Worked wonderfully for me on a 5-day cruise to the Bahamas
Worked wonderfully for me on a 5-day cruise to the Bahamas. I'm a ginger and burn very easily, I also have sensitive skin and always manage to attract something to sting or irritate my skin in the ocean. I kept this stuff coated on me during beach time and during extensive scuba diving and boat time and managed to survive the trip without any burns or stings!

Good sunscreen -- really got to rub it in
It's very thick, but I think that's a good thing--it just takes some time to get it all rubbed into your skin. A darker-skinned person (like my husband) might look a little like they're in white face until it is good and blended. At the end of an 8-day Caribbean cruise, we still had plenty left, even though I was putting it on constantly throughout the day. We did not encounter any jellyfish, so I don't know whether or not it works, but because it's so thick, I think it probably will -- especially with the little bitey shrimpey things that come out at night and make surfacing after a night dive really painful.

This seems to work
I can't say if this kept us from getting stung my sea lice or other jelly fish. I can only say that during our hour of snorkeling in the Caribbean, we didn't get stung once. I can say that as a sun block, this worked very well. Neither of us got the least sunburned. The only down side is that this goes on very white and it's a bit hard to smooth in. It doesn't seem to affect its effectiveness at all, but it does look rather messy. Still, it does work, and that is what we considered important. If it had worked as well but had not been so messy looking, I would have rated it 5 stars.

It works!!!
First trip to Fiji resulted in multiple sea lice stings. Took this with me on the next few trips and no stings! If youโve ever experienced sea lice stings, you know how bad they are. I swear by this lotion and take it on every snorkel / scuba vacation!

Does not prevent jellyfish stings
This lotion works fine as a sunscreen. As a jellyfish deterrent?? Nope. Two of my four kids were stung by jellyfish- not once, but two and three times over the course of a week swimming off Myrtle Beach. They were slathered in the lotion before hitting the beach. Iโd say stick to regular sunscreen and if there are jellyfish in the area, carry a bottle of vinegar and paper towels to soak the sting immediately. Worked for our kids.

Zero stars. Does not work.
This does not work. 3 out of the 4 members of our family slathered ourselves in this but were still stung. Absolutely terrible product. Also, we were all sunburned while wearing this product. Wish I could return for a refund but we are now 60 days out. Warning to others, find something else.

No Stings
Purchased for a Disney Cruise after reading comments from others about sea lice at Castaway Cay. I can't say for sure if this product prevents stings as I'm not sure if there were even sea lice in the area when we visited. Regardless, none of us were stung nor sunburned after using. For those reasons, I would recommend Safe Sea Protective Lotion if you are concerned.
