Do they have a strap that fits under your boot to keep down?

No there is no strap. However, they are stiff enough where they do not ride up.

Would this protect below the knee only? Or all the way up too?

Has anyone sustained a strike in their chaps?

I haven't sustained a strike yet. But I have a problem with the clips on bottom of chaps. They need to be zip up. And the guards need to be more flexible. Not bad for 50 dollars but gonna look for a different brand and style.

Seem very durable

They fit well and are comfortable. It feels like it has thick cardboard or plastic inserts. They do hold in heat and don't breath a lot but they definitely protect your legs.

Did not seem secure

It was very difficult to adjust the chaps for sizing and making sure the lower portion of the leg was guarded. There were no instructions of any kind to explain how to adjust the straps etc.

Straps behind the boot attends to come loose and they need to be used during winter being there super thick
