It is cheapo plastic and will never work as advertized
OK. First, it looks NOTHING like the picture. In the picture, it has an end cap that seals. In the picture, it does not have holes all the way down the plastic. In the picture, it looks like flexible, yet sturdy plastic. What I got was cheap plastic not much thicker than a gallon Ziploc bag. It will last about a week in the sun and weather. Because it had not anchor at the end, it would also just blow around and be worthless. There is no simple way to roll this up. It will just unroll itself. Do not recommend & I returned. Cheap, and badly designed. I would have paid $15 dollars for something I could have used.

Happy with the product, but lengths are misleading
The product works well and performs as advertised. We needed a way to get the water from the downspout beyond our flower garden area (which was at the base of the downspout). To do this, we needed at least a 6' extension to the bottom of the downspout. The normal heavy plastic extenders (like a bendy straw) that can be found at every hardware store are not long enough. A simple 6'-7' piece of downspout doesn't work in our situation because the elevation needed causes the water to not run out at the end. This is the perfect solution, except that the small holes are punched into the last 2' cause the effective length to be much less than listed. If you look closely a the illustration on the packaging (product image), you can see what I'm talking about. Because of this, we left our too-short bendy-straw extender in place, then added this product to the end of that. That got us the distance away from the flower garden that we needed. Keep in mind that you will consume 6" to 12" when installed on the downspout side, then 2' of the other end will have the little holes punched into it. The effective length of a 8' extender will only be around 5'. Had I known this, I would have purchased the 12' version. Other than that, it has been working great so far. The material is like a super-thick trash bag...or similar to a very high quality Ziploc freezer bag. It doesn't seem like something that will last for 10-15 years, but it should do the job for quite a while. I'm happy with the purchase.

Works.... kind of
The Frost King DE300 downspout extender works fine overall, but it doesn’t do exactly what the description suggests. It does not automatically unroll when it rains, and it also doesn’t roll itself back up afterward. It pretty much stays in the position you leave it. That said, if the automatic feature doesn’t matter to you, it works well as a simple drain-away solution. It’s lightweight, easy to attach, and extends the water far enough away from the house to be effective. Just don’t buy it expecting it to self‑deploy—if you’re okay with that, it’ll work well for what it is.

It carries water away from the house well.
It works very well, but is flimsy, blows around in strong wind, and must be sheltered when not in use because of its thin plastic. I'm buying it again because overall, it's better than the large non-collapsible rain gutters that break anyway.

Flimsy. Doesn’t retract.
Flimsy / thin material and it doesn’t retract. Not what I was expecting.

Does some heavy lifting before it is made to disappear
Boy did this little buddy hit the spot. We have a small enclosed courtyard and having unsightly extended bulky tubing running across it during heavy rains is a visual blight and a challenge to store. But this, it works perfectly and just rolls up for easy camouflage and tucking behind containers. This is why I love Amazon. I had no idea something like this existed until it popped up when queried.
