Garfield and Friends, Volume Three [DVD]

Garfield and Friends IMO was one of the best saturday morning cartoon shows to ever air. It is great to see them being released on DVD and now with volume 3 there is even more joy. While I wish we could have commentary for these episodes and perhaps some extras (such as CBS saturday morning trailers and promos etc...) It is good to see that the U.S. Acres quickies have been added back to make the sets complete. Here's what to expect from volume 3 which has some great cartoons including DJ Jon, Squeak previews, and Mystery guest which always gets me laughing that even Jon can't figure out his own cat is the mystery guest on the farm. Finally got Garfield & Friends Vol-3! Unfortunately I am stuck at work so won't get to start watching em till tomorrow. I don't think there was a better Cartoon Series. That was the only thing I looked forward to Saturday when I was younger. This will have episodes 49-72. We will still be expecting Vol 4 and 5 to complete all 121 episodes, but I have found no word on a timeframe.My favorites on here are US Acres 'Over The Rainbow' with voice of Rod Roddy (price is right) announcing what is won for the Dirty Sock in the 'end of the rainbow' game. Garfield 'Jukebox Jon' where Jon has an interview to get a job and the boss states Jon is level-Headed and not a wierdo, then which Jon walks in speaking spanish and making funny sounds! Also 'Rodent Rampage', which has one of the best 'songs' from the Garfield toons, where Jon breaks into a song when he spots a mouse in the Kitchen "Garfield there's a mouse in the house" "Let Me Sleep!"Another note, the next (and maybe final) Garfield 'Specials' DVD is also available for pre-order now, Called 'Garfield Fantasies'.

Volume three contains a number of great episodes, and was the least-produced (and therefore hardest to locate) of the five DVD sets of Garfield & Friends. If you can get your hands on a copy of this set, grab it quickly- it has not yet been released in digital format, and PAWS is not exactly being speedy about the release date. Pat Buttram (the Sheriff of Nottingham in Disney's "Robin Hood") provides guest voicing, as does Paul Winchell of "Tigger" fame (ironically, Mr. Winchell provided the voices of both the good guy and the bad guy in the "Supermarket Mania", in a partial head-nod to his polar opposite roles of Winnie the Pooh's "Tigger" and The Smurfs' "Gargamel"). As usual, the mix of these cartoons include everyone's least favorite beings, the Buddy Bears, as well as Jim Davis' spoof on the early Warner Bros "three bears" of Goldi...er...Odielocks fame.

Volume 3 Disc 3 is my favorite of the whole series. It contains the episode Learning Lessons, in which Garfield makes up the word Gazorninplat in an effort to get the buddy bears to stop interrupting him with educational facts. I couldn't remember the name of the episode or what season it was in so it took a while to come across it again. Once I did my daughter wanted to watch it about 3 times in a row.I agree with some of the other reviews in that the discs are pretty no-frills, and the name change for US Acres seemed odd, but I can't really deduct a star from a very entertaining series just for that.

THIS SHOW ARRIVED ON TIME AND I ENJOYED EVERY BIT OF IT...I AM A CHILD AT HEART SO I JUST HAD TO ORDER THIS SHOW.ME BEING AN ADULT NOW, I CATCH ALLL THE SUGGESTIVE HUMOR IN THIS CARTOON THAT I NEVER CAUGHT AS A KID...LOL.THIS SHOW WILL HAVE YOU LAUGHING SO HARD!!! THIS CARTOON WAS WELL PUT TOGETHER!!THANKS TO THE SELLER!!! I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE.i KNOW MY REVIEW IS LATE.BUT I HAD TO WATCH IT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK.I HAVENT FINISHED WATCHING IT YET BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY EPISODES TO CHOOSE FROM...I BOUGHT THIS USED AND IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!! Great DVD set. Remember watching this in the early to mid 90s? I bought one of these box sets back in 2005, and now my son is into Garfield and Friends too, so I bought him this set.

had to have my title replaced after my first purchase was crushed. The outer box was fine but the contents were heavily damaged. It is terrible that the warehouse people did not care enough to include a proper item because there was no way the stocker didn't see the damage. Amazon was very prompt to replace it. I also purchased two other seasons that arrived separately and they were equally damaged. My request for replacement did specifically ask them to double check the item for damage before shipping. My replacements were excellent.

I really like the Garfield cartoon, so when I saw that the series was available, I knew that this is something I wanted to purchase.With about 4 hours of entertainment, this is perfect for Saturday morning (when you don't have cable) or fr when you're sick and need something to cheer you up. :)Only slightly annoying thing is when they try to do a song number-the syllables are stretched and some of the rhyming is forced. They do it like three times.Other than that I love this product and would the rest of the seasons. :DCheers
