Q: What size pole can you use to mount

I did not use a pole to mount the birdhouse so I have no suggestion. My birdhouse hangs in one of my fruit trees, the birds love it, it is a very inviting feeder. It holds a good deal of birdfood and attracts a multitude of birds, I really enjoy it.

Q: do you think it will keep squirrels out?

Unfortunately it does not keep squirrels out. We put grease on the pole to keep them away.

Q: I need to order a top for the feeder. Is that possible?

I would think they would have replacement parts. We have never had a problem with ours.
