Beware of unscrewing the bottom cap
Edit 2023-06-05 I *have* to comment on the insulating capabilities of this bottle (and raise my 4-star rating to 5-stars). I usually don't use ice because I'm not a big ice person. But yesterday was 90°F and very humid. We were outdoors setting up for, and attending, a grad party. So I filled the bottle with as much ice as I could fit & then topped off with tap water. It's around 22-23 hours later AND THERE'S STILL ICE in my bottle. I've refilled the water at least 5 times since the original ice fill. This bottle is crazy good at keeping ice going. I kept running out of water to drink because the ice was just not melting. Also everyone who saw me add ice was fascinated that the bottom unscrewed for ice filling and cleaning. They all said that was an awesome feature, and several wanted to know where I got the bottle. Original review: I am what I call a "unconscious drinker" meaning I habitually grab for whatever drink is on my desk whenever I switch doing something. If I just wrote some code, and hit run, absentmindedly grab a bottle and drink. Fire off and email? Yep a drink without thinking about it. This wouldn't be a problem except those drinks tended to be bottles of soft drinks. One day I received a plastic 750ml bottle from work that I loved. It was the perfect size for me, and fit under the water filter at work. Most importantly it didn't have a straw or tiny sports bottle pull up spout. The opening was a flip-top with a wide spout that I could get a good chug from. I went from drinking soda all day to crushing my water intake each day. But plastic doesn't last long. Especially when dropped a few too many times on the pavement. So I searched for another 750ml bottle I could love, and found this Zulu bottle. Overall I am happy with it, but there are some trade offs over my beloved company-branded-free-swag-bottle. Pros: 750ml is a happy place for me on volume. Keeps me from having to refill as often, but isn't so big that it's heavy to carry around. The uniform diameter fits in my vehicle's cupholder (old bottle did not). The push button flip top has a soft silicone spout the I can get good gulps of water. The outer coating is slightly textured making it a bit easier to hold while drinking. It keeps my water frosty cold until I have to refill. The stainless steel interior means no worry about plastic leeching stuff into my water. Trade-offs (Not Cons, just things different from my trusty old bottle) Since I drink absentmindedly I often pick up the bottle to find it's empty. I got used to seeing the level in my clear plastic bottle. This meant it was easier to monitor consumed amounts and refill needed at a glance. This bottle cannot be see through so I often find it empty at inopportune times. The height is too tall for the filtered water dispenser at work. Wouldn't be an issue except I'm 6'3" and I have to stoop over & hold the bottle to fill it instead of just sitting it on the shelf and holding the button. Very minor, and only affects me. Cons: I loved the concept of the removable bottom for cleaning or adding larger ice chunks. It makes rinsing out the inside a breeze. But the cap's thread is plastic and the bottle's thread is steel. This makes cross threading fairly easy. And the o-ring seal is small. So I had issues with a leak for a while until I removed, and replaced, the bottom cap. I can see the possibility of overtightening the cap as well which would deform it, and could cause a leak. The flip-top's button is very small in height. This makes it hard to activate if you don't grip just right. For those of us with bigger hands that's a problem. Also the flip top is a hard plastic. This will eventually get broken I'm sure. I'm sure this is to keep production costs down over having milled/cast metal tops (or it could be a planned obsolescence thing who knows). Hopefully replacement caps are available down the line. Overall the cons aren't nearly enough for me to shy away from highly recommending the bottle.

Maximize your hydration, hot or cold
I really like these Zulu bottles. They are my favorite. I was unsure if I would like this new feature where you can open it from the bottom. Then I figured out it is for easier adding of Ice cubes. And I realized not every one has the same size ice or automatic ice shoot on the refrigerator door. I also liked I could fill it up right after filling it with ice. The open button is awesome and the rubber mouth spout. If someone bumps you you won't bang your teeth. It keeps large ice back away from your teeth as well. I don't chew ice. It's easily opened and closed with one hand. It gets a 100 for stability and dexterity. They balanced it just right for one handed peration. There is a handy lock as well, only requires the slide of a thumb. You can clip to the handle or secure thru the handle on the lid in a side pocket of a back pack or what not for extra safety. They can be dropped and not spill open if the lid is snug. The powder coated steel Thermos takes a beating and stays hot or cold for many hours. It comes in a lot of colors. I have black, white, hot pink, lavender, grey and this new light pink. It it's well in my truck cup holders and doesn't wobble or fall. They is no side handle to get in the way so it stores easier and you can carry it many different ways. I like to keep different rubber bracelets around mine to mark that it's mine or add a little flare. I also tuck small things in the bracelet I want to take with me like a bobby pin or floss stick. There is no straw to worry about losing or cleaning. All parts are dish washer safe. The rubber mouth piece pulls in and out of its groove for cleaning, but stays secure otherwise. I honestly rarely drink out of anything else other than 1 cup of coffee a day. It doesn't get nasty or slimy or smell bad. I sleep with it and it never leaks and I can drink while laying down. I have been know to use it in the winter time to take hot tea on my bike rides and occasionally slip a hard seltzer or Michaela in avenue with me that doesn't care about water bottles. Especially if I'm gonna have to wait to be seated at a steak house or something. Lol but each to their own. I could see this as being a good hot water bottle to warm breast milk or premade formula packs for tired moms who don't want to get up and down warming milk during the night or rest periods, or during travel as it will stay warm. Or cold which ever temp you need it could easily be used as a vessel. Dishwasher and bleach or vinegar safe. I usually give a quick clean with dish soap and hot water. I hope that helps. Gimme a like if you read thru my post

My Waterbottle
I love these water bottles from Zulu. I'm loyal and spent over an hour looking for the perfect water bottle for my needs and disabilities. Perfect size for my hand to hold comfortably, aand surprisingly lightweight. No Straw Thing, Yay. Large Open mouth whole for ease to chug. Obsessed with the base opening, it let's me put large chunks of ice in my beverage of choice. Easy to clean but most important, it has been dropped over a hundred times, by me, and still works perfect i expexed something to break. Thinking logically about the reprocussion of gravity. At most it has a couple of scratches. It's a good product made really well, esthetically pleasing design, cute color options but somewhat hard to find. Its my water bottle of choice because it checks off all my boxes.

The Ultimate Stainless Steel Water Bottle - Stylish, Functional, and Eco-Friendly!
When it comes to portable hydration, nothing beats the Zulu Ace 24oz Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle. Those in search of a convenient and eco-friendly way to stay hydrated will appreciate this water bottle's seamless integration of these three features. The primary remarkable feature of this water bottle is its vacuum-insulated, stainless-steel build. Whether I'm drinking a cold one on a hot summer day or a hot one on a chilly winter night, it never fails to maintain the ideal temperature. The insulation is so good that my beverages have stayed at the perfect temperature for hours, which is unusual for water bottles. The Zulu Ace is distinguished from its competitors by its innovative chug spout design. It's a nice and easy method to drink, and I can take small sips without worrying about spilling. Because of the added protection provided by the leak-proof locking cap, this water bottle is great for use in every setting, from the great outdoors to the gym to everyday life. I've been able to tote it around without worrying about spillage, and every time I use it, I'm blown away by the results. The base's ability to be removed for cleaning makes it a clever design choice. It's simple to disassemble and wash completely, so it will smell fresh and clean after each use. This attention to cleanliness and ease of use is much appreciated, as it helps make drinking a pleasurable and stress-free experience. The Zulu Ace water bottle's reusability is an ideal fit for those who value sustainability in a world where disposable plastic is a major problem. It makes me happy to know that my choice of water bottle is having a beneficial effect on the planet. This water bottle is the ideal size, being both portable and large enough to keep you well-hydrated all day long. It holds 24 ounces. Its stylish, contemporary appearance is a welcome addition to my regular life. The Zulu Ace also shines when it comes to longevity. The stainless steel body is tough and durable, so it can take the knocks and jostles that come with traveling. To my relief, it survived being dropped several times without suffering any dents or other visible damage. This review is about the Zulu Ace 24oz Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle, which has quickly become my preferred means of transporting liquids. Among other reusable water bottles, it stands out due to its vacuum insulation, leak-proof design, and eco-friendliness. This water bottle has never let me down, whether I've been using it at the gym, on a hike, or just going about my day. It's a step up in living standards, not just a water bottle. I'm confident in giving it a perfect score of five stars.

Great Water Bottle!
I seem to be obsessed with finding the perfect, insulated water bottle and I think I may have found the closest to perfect I think I'm gonna get. What really sets the Zulu bottle aside is it has a unique second opening from the bottom making cleaning absurdly simple, especially compared to some of the big ones with small openings at the top where it's damn near impossible to reach the bottom while trying to thoroughly clean. This feature alone made me want to order one. But that's not all, as the infomercials would say. The lid is equally cool in that not only will it close and open easily, you can actually lock the lid so it either stays closed or open. Trust me, if you've ever transported a water bottle that "accidentally" opened in a backpack or some other place and drenched all kinds of things, you will immediately appreciate the innovation going on here with something so simple as a lid-lock. So far it's kept my ice intact after at least 5 hours - which is a far cry from keeping it icy for 24, but in my experience, I have yet to actually find a double-walled bottle actually keep ice for more than maybe 15 hours tops, no matter how much you paid for it. They may exist, but so far I have yet to see one. On top of it all, it looks good, too. Love mine.

Easy to keep clean.
Doesn’t have the fanciest name recognition amongst Owala and Yeti and Stanley but this is my go to water bottle. It is easy to clean as the bottom unscrews just like the top. It does a very good job keeping water cold. It is probably not at tough as the Yetis or Stanleys but I usually keep my stuff abuse free.

Lots of great features
I love this water bottle! The colors offered are super nice. The locking mechanism in the lid is great especially when I toss it in my work bag or gym bag, I know it won’t leak. The screw off bottom makes cleaning easy. Fixed handle and Fits in the cup holder. excellent quality, water stays cold for hours. I bought three in different colors!

Not sure if it’s just mine but it leaks
This water bottle is incredible! It has everything I need - a big capacity, keeps drinks cold, easy to clean, durable, and won’t leak. I recently got a kidney transplant, and my doctors want me to drink a ton of water. The good news is I take a lot of medicine, which makes my mouth super dry. I’m also very immunocompromised because of my anti-rejection meds, so I can’t be around too many germs. I need a water bottle that can hold a decent amount of water, keep it cold for a while, be easy to clean, and not leak. I thought I found that with Zulu. I’m not sure if it was just my bottle that had an issue, but when I fill the water bottle (after making sure the bottom is screwed on tight), it works great for a while, but then it starts leaking from the bottom seam. I have two other Zulu Ace bottles (teal and black). I got them last summer at Target, and those two are fantastic! They don’t leak, drinks stay cold for a really long time, and if I lock the lid, I can keep it with me in bed. If you clean it PROPERLY (unscrew the top and bottom, take out the rubber pieces), it doesn’t generally smell. The water bottle looks good and is the same color as the one in the picture. Considering that it leaks (which might just be mine), I probably wouldn’t pay $17 for it again when I can get one at a store and have it right away. It’s durable, I’ve dropped all 3 on the floor a few times and they haven’t dented so far. They don’t fit in the back cup holder of a Hyundai Tucson, but they do fit in the front. They’re lightweight and can fit in an average-sized purse. Note: I put purple Gatorade Zero powder in my water, so that’s why it’s purple.

Silicon mouth piece disintegrates after just 7 months.
This is my 2nd Zulu ace bottle. First lasted 1+ year. Mouth piece became rough and brownish. Like the rubber deteriorated. This is my 2nd one. Worse! Silicon mouth piece disintegrates just after 7 months! And they don’t sell replacement caps. I really like this bottle. But quality is bad. Not sure what’s the size effects of using a mouthpiece with this rubber condition!

Fantastic!
Great size, easy to clean with a lock to hold top tight. Best feature is that the bottom can be opened. This allows you to place the three pieces in the dishwasher for the best cleaning or - for cleaning it yourself ensuring no bacteria is built up at the bottom.

Exelente

Lid broke
The lid broke after less than 9 months. There’s some rubber that will make the lid pop open when you press a button and this piece of rubber simply came off one day.

Thoughtful design
I've been a fan of Zulu's other products for years, especially their Atlas bottles. When I come across the Ace bottle, I had to get hold of a few as it addressed a minor issue I had with the Atlas bottles which was filling up with ice. With the removable base on the Ace bottle, it's made it alot easier to fill bottles quickly with ice opposed to inserting 1 cube at a time with the Atlas bottles. The secondary benefit is the removable base allows easier access to clean the bottles. These will likely be my go to bottles during the warm periods of the year where I subsist on copious amounts of iced water for work and fitness as the vacuum insulation will allow the water to stay icy for longer which is the only drawback of the Atlas bottles. I'll likely keep using the Atlas bottles during winter as iced water is still icy even after hours past.
