Crystala Filters XWF Replacement for GE XWF Refrigerator Water Filter Pack of 2 (Not XWFE)

Filter fit my GE refrigerator perfectly. After running a couple large cups of water through to wash out it works perfectly! Awesome more affordable option for a water filter. Will purchase again when needed!!

I just got this yesterday so if I have problems in the future I'll let you know, but so far it installed easily and the refrigerator works as well as with the original GE filter. The price is right but they really need to add an arrow on the cartridge so people can line them up correctly. It's easy enough to install without the arrow, but why not make it fool-proof? Also the cartridge weighs much less than the original GE cartridge. That really doesn't mean much, but it does make me wonder why the weight is so different. I've seen some people complaining about error codes and so forth. Folks this isn't the filter's fault, in the last year or so GE changed their units so that they needed to be a XWFE filters. Note the E on the end. The filters are identical except GE in their endless greed added a microchip that lets the filter tell the refrigerator that it's a GE filter. Without the microchip it won't work. It has nothing to do with the quality of the filter, it's just the same type of anticompetitive greed shown by some printer companies that go out of their way to force you to use their over priced replacement parts.

Great universal dupe of the GE XWF water filters. My water taste great. No complaints. Very affordable.

This is an Amazon problem, but it is the manufacturer's fault for not making their instructions clearer. This filter does not work for refrigerators that require the XWFE filter. This is the XWF filter. We got an error message no matter how we installed it. There is a chip missing in the XWF filters. So shame on GE for adding this nonsense. I would have purchased a different fridge if I'd known this. GE's filters are $50 compared to $10 for these.

Problems with GE fridge filters (XWFE) because of the rip-off by GE. Short version. Took old original GE filter out, no more water will flow, that's fine. Put new filter XWF in, fridge shows an error, not water flow. Carefully removed (with hair dryer) RFID paper off the old filter and cut out smaller RFID part. Just stuck this piece of paper (it still will stick a little) on to the new XWF filter and created instantly a XWFE filter. Back in the fridge, wow, it works. Fresh water is flowing, no leaks, no error, saving money.

GE fridge. GE filters are much pricier. I looked on Amazon and found these Crystala filters. I've been using them for a while now. I've been buying them in sets of two and I'm on our third or forth set already. No problems at all with them. They fit my side-by-side GE fridge perfectly. Haven't caused any issues. Water and ice taste fine. No complaints. I'll keep getting these as long as they are in the right price range.
