My dog loves these. unlike other fish skins I've seen in pet stores that are soft, these are hard and crunchy. so, they last a little bit longer than the soft skins. You get a nice amount of skins per bag too. This brand can be bought at one of the major pet store chains, but it's easier for me right now to purchase online. They do have a strong smell. but hey, it's fish. So, that's not an issue for me or my dog. Good product.

My 4 month old chihuahua mix puppy is absolutely enamored with this treat! She is in the midst of losing her baby teeth so she is a teething nightmare. They do smell fishy but it’s not that bad compared to other dried fish products. I just make sure to brush her teeth afterward lol. Anyway this keeps her occupied for 2-3 hrs. She will just gnaw away at it next to me happily. It’s very tough but not dangerous or sharp. I wanted to figure out a way to cut it in half since my puppy is small (only 6.5 lbs) but I couldn’t for the life of me cut it with a scissors or knife. I tried snapping in half but it would just fold and not tear. So I’ll just give her the whole thing and take away if I notice she’s getting full. But at the same time it’s just fish skin and not an actual whole fish. It seems big but when it all melts and digests it’s probably not that big of a portion if you think about it.

These have a strong fish smell, so I placed a towel down on the porch where my small dogs could explore this new treat. I managed with some effort to cut them lengthwise with Poultry Scissors which made them easier for small dogs, but then scales fell out. They lost interest within 15 min.

My dog absolutely loves these! The first one lasted 40 minutes, the last ones have been lasting 9 minutes… I researched The Honest Kitchen intensely and think they are among the absolute best dog food companies out there. Our puppy's dominant meal are their Puppy clusters, so I felt really good about buying these Cod skins from a company that I already trust. I had originally wanted to buy salmon skin but learned that Cod skin is actually much better to digest than salmon skin, and can be fed more often. They don't reek, but I still prefer feeding them outside. In confined spaces they do smell fishy and that lingered for a bit, it's not extreme, but I could see how it might bother someone sensitive to odors. If you do feed them inside, I highly suggest to not do it on the carpet, yes, for the smell but also it looses small scales and they are hard to get out of textured carpets.

Good product overall. My small dog is a messy eater and this was a very messy treat. It also smells as you would expect a fish to smell.

These Beams Ocean Chews are an excellent option for dogs who need low-fat treats! Since they’re made from cod skin, they’re much lower in fat and calories compared to most other chews—making them perfect for pups with dietary restrictions. For my 15-lb dog, I like to cut each strip into three smaller pieces so they last longer and stay more manageable. Of course always supervise your dog while they’re chewing, as with any treat, to prevent choking.

I don't know how many days my dachshund could "survive" without her "fishies" - they're her absolute favourite treats. I cut these in half as a whole one is way too much for her so I essentially get double out of each bag. She has only half her teeth and does very well with these - and I credit these chews for keeping her remaining teeth very clean. Also, she's basically a pescatarian as she is allergic to chicken and sensitive to pork and beef, so when I found these chews years ago it was a real win. As I am not a fish person myself, it does stink up the room for a few minutes when she really gets into it (after carrying it around like a precious treasure for days), and the scales flake off and make a mess but the smell is quickly gone and neither the scales nor any part of the product leave a mark or mess beyond needing a very light vacuum.

I have been buying these for about 6 months now as a great treat to satisfy carnivorous dogs. They love them. I love the healthy qualities, the added nutrition of fish oil and especially the easy chew for my senior dog with an appetite to eat bones but no longer the strong teeth.
