A little wobbly in the air
Kite works, flies well. I got it stuck in a tree but was able to get it out without any damage. Due to its lack of tail it does like to nosedive every so often. But thatโs easily fixed by getting some fabric of your own and tying it.

They loved it so much
Here is the story of the cursed kite: My kids received a box kite for Christmas last year from their Grandparent. They loved it so much. Of course, we waited until spring to take it out. On our very first flight it sailed beautifully into the air for all of five seconds...then promptly flew into a tree. It was hopelessly tangled. I did call Parks and Recs to see if they could do anything for us, and wasn't expecting much when they said they'd take a look and see what they could do. The next day, Parks & Recs called me and they had saved our kite! The kiddos and I picked it up and never really had a chance to fly it again. Until the end of summer. My hubby took the kids out to the beach with the kite since there would be more room to run around and less trees in the way. It sailed up beautifully, and my hubby let each of our kids have a turn with it. He told the wee one to hold on to the string as hard as he could--and he did...the poor guy was gripping it so tightly. For about two minutes. Then he let go. And the kite went sailing faster than the kids or my hubby could run. Then it landed in Lake Michigan. And sank. Kiddos were crushed. My daughter wondered if Parks & Recs could save this kite. Hubby said probably not this time. When he got home, hubby promptly ordered this kite. We haven't flown it yet, but it already feels more durable than our last kite and the colours are gorgeously vivid. We can't wait to fly it! Here's hoping the curse died with the last kite! ;) Will update when we finally fly it.

pros and cons
Reasons for 3/5 stars is, although very well constructed, mine was only 31 inches, not 37 inches. Also I believe the minimum necessary wind speed is 15 MPH not the lower figures they give. Not sure yet whether I would buy again.

Great to fly, easy catching wind, goes until out until there is no more string.

Fun kite!
Awesome box kite! Be aware that you need some strong winds to fly it or you'll end up frustrated. 15-20 mph is its sweet spot. The dowels are made out of rubber so it's much easier to insert rods than the other box kite I bought that had rigid plastic dowels.

Very quick delivery!
This product was a gift. It came promptly and when the recipient open the gift they were very excited about it. As it is still winter time here we will not get a chance to try out the kite until the spring time.
