You can buy many versions of these small clippers for half the price or less. And they are worth what you pay for them. This Wahl small clipper is well-made, works effectively, and is well worth the increased cost over cheaper imports. It is quiet enough that it doesn't freak out the puppies (two Irish Setter pups; you don't know hair until you have an Irish Setter). These clippers are compact and fit comfortably in the hand. They are sharp and make quick work of voluminous dog hair. Great for feet, around the face, etc.

Oh my - I wish I had this years ago! Now, I can easily trim my Shih Tsu & Llaha's faces & paws (I groom my own doggies) - they love the whisper quietness of it. Makes my job so easy!! I just used it to trim their faces and paws - it was a breeze. It cuts through their coats like butter - quick & painless. The tools are just right, go on easily, stay on, and make everything 100% easy and even. My dogs are both 14 yrs. old, so they are delicate and sometimes they get cranky if it takes too long to groom them. This trimmer makes it a BREEZE and I'm done in half the time. The shape of the clipper is perfect for my hands and their faces, so it's painless (for them and for me) to clip them now. I love the fact that it's cordless - sometimes I have to go to a cooler spot outside to clip them - it's always been a hassle with a cord. You can totally tell the difference with the rotating blade - there's nothing like it! The big traditional clippers went out in the trash. Thank you Wahl - this is the best product you've ever made!

Great clipper for my poodle's face! It is a nice size and quiet.

I can't compare this to other clippers since this is my first clipper but I think I picked a really good one. This does have a buzzing sound but it is quieter & less vibration than full sized ones I've heard. Luckily it didn't seem to scare my dog & he did great on his first clipping! I don't know if there is a clipper out there that is completely quiet. WHY can't they make that? Dyson? Anybody ? Hello? Back to the clipper, it has 2 double- sided clipper guide sizes (total of 4, just flip them but it is hard to see the numbers on the inside of the guide. You can tell by looking it at it though.) I don't like that they slightly snap in, they need to improve that but they didn't fall off while clipping. Overall the size is PERFECT for small/toy dogs. My dog is a 8 lb. shih tzu & i used it all over him. I could use something smaller around his face area as he has a tiny face but I made due with the clipper & some touchup with a finishing scissor I have. I actually got a semi-pro cut on him with my first try with this clipper. I was proud of myself & everyone said he looked good so I'll take it. With a little practice I'm sure I can make it just exactly like the pro-groomers. Oh & I used it on the battery, not corded & it lasted through the whole cut with juice left over. Can't beat the price compared to the bigger clippers too. This clipper is almost perfect!

We have a 19 year old DSH family cat who has difficulty cleaning herself because of arthritis and age. She's a happy girl, and with us giving her SubQ fluids, fairly healthy. I talked to a highly rated cat groomer and they don't want to work on her because of her age unless she's sedated. The vet recommends no sedation. Fortunately, these clippers are wonderful and easy. I tried them the first time this morning. I used a grooming comb to lift the mat away from her skin and clipped at the comb, using the comb as a shield to protect her skin. The clippers are so quiet, they didn't bother her at all. I groomed her for about 15 minutes and accomplished a lot. Even trimmed fur around the hind end to make her cleaning duties easier because she can still reach there. These clippers will help keep her fur in good shape.

Splurge a little; trust me, I bought other clippers with thousands of Amazon reviews, and if you use them often, they become loud and unusable. I'm not a professional, but I kind of know what I'm doing. The Mini Arco clippers are a must-buy if you have a small dog, as I do, or need to get into small areas. Minimal noise level, long-lasting charge, can be used while charging, it's light enough, so you don't have to worry about your hands hurting, and the barrel is the perfect size for one's hand. Cons: the guide combs only come in plastic, BUT Wahl's customer service is fantastic; they replaced the guide combs after my puppy chewed them. I wish they made guide combs in metal, but besides this, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

I loved it the first 2 times I used it - until the blade dulled. I used it once a week on my two 11lb Shih-Tzu - only to clean up their paws (very light grooming). After 11 uses, it was quicker to scissor their paws than it was to trim them with this trimmer. I followed Wahl's cleaning and oiling instructions - and their troubleshooting instructions. I was going to order a new blade for the trimmer, but decided against it after reading that other people had the same issue. I hardly ever contact manufacturers if a product doesn't perform as advertised, but after reading reviews of the blade I decided to contact Wahl. I spoke with Michelle - she was fine until I mentioned that others had left reviews on Amazon about the blades dulling quickly. She snapped at me saying "there's nothing wrong with our blades, but you can ship it back to us and we will replace it since it's still under warranty". I was stunned by her response. Maybe it was a bad day - maybe she gets these calls a lot - customer service is a thankless job - I get it. I wanted to ask her why Wahl would be so quick to replace the trimmer (without any troubleshooting) if there wasn't an issue with the blade, but I didn't want to push it. If not for that interaction, I would have thrown the trimmer away and purchased something else. I am sending the trimmer back for a replacement - interested to see how it turns out. Meanwhile, I'm back on the hunt for a decent cordless trimmer - won't be a Wahl... Update - Wahl followed through with the warranty and sent a reconditioned unit (it arrived a month after I sent mine back). I had to pay to ship my clippers back to Wahl and I had to pack it in the original box - if you buy these clippers, save everything. I had the same results with the "new" clippers. It's really frustrating that the blade dulls so quickly because I love the clippers. They are easy to use, quiet, and low vibration. I even purchased a replacement blade, but had the same results. Very frustrating since I followed Wahl's recommendation for care of the blade(s), but still find the blade life to be too short.

This is incredible. I have a Maine Coon who's fur mats like nobody's business. If I cut off some of her fur and gently form it into a ball, it will not untangle ever. As a result, she ends up needing a lot of grooming. Grooming tends to be very traumatic for her, as she has to deal with people she doesn't know in a stressful environment. Thankfully, they recommended this trimmer to me. To be frank, it works flawlessly. To test it, I put my finger against the cutting edge. It didn't even leave a mark. If it won't damage my skin, I have little concern of it nicking her more thin skin. First I turned it on to show it to her, and she wasn't afraid of it. Then I was able to just move it against her body and the hair came right off. No tangles, no pulling, just completely cut off fur. Incredible. Highly recommend. I'm not one to type up reviews, but this blew me away.
