Perfect and quick Espresso!
I was curious about Espresso after years of pour-over and AeroPress. I also wanted something tiny and cheap enough to take when camping or traveling. It had to be low maintenance, allow quick reload and it needed to be able to make a decent espresso. I got this one without high hopes! This thing hit an espresso homerun with the second try!! Key: 1. Your grinder setting is critical!! For ZPresso K-Ultra - No lower than 2.5, No higher than 3! Depends on the beans. 2. Use boiling water as it drops in temperature. 3. Preheat the tube by pouring over it on the outside. Yeah! Of course you have to keep it horizontal for that step. Why am I even writing this disclaimer :D 4. Once you see first drops come out stop increasing the pressure, keep it steady. 5. Once you hit bottom keep it pressed until the drops stop coming out (~ 30 sec). Tip: You can go a tiny! bit over the 60 mark for a fuller cup. Observations: 1. The finger squeezing handles are useless. You will always be using the palm of your hand pushing down. Zero chance to get this done with fingers only. 2. The cup for pressing the coffee powder is small by a whole milimeter. Annoying but not a major deal. I can see the next model coming out with wider top for palm push only and a cup that fits perfectly when compressing the coffee. In all - You will be able to make a wonderful espresso both at home and in the field as long as you have boiling water and a small, smooth, flat surface to push onto safely. You will be able to do this faster and with less fuss than most other portable manual solutions. The pictures show the making of a fantastic Cortado!

Fantastic Lightweight Espresso Travel Companion
UPDATE: Contrary to sound of the reviews for this item, It is absolutely possible to get good, even spectacular espresso from this little device, but it requires enough experience to get the proper grind and apply the necessary technique. I bought this very lightweight espresso maker for a trip and it has worked amazingly well over the course of the many trips as well as occasional home use, including several weeks in France. Used correctly it makes *true* espresso, not just strong coffee. So far I've made several hundred ~14.5g shots and most have been excellent, and every single one drinkable. In fact, I like it so much that most days I make a second or third shot with the Cafflano instead of waiting for my Synchornika to warm up. It's also help me decrease my caffeine intake just a tad with the 14g capacity. There are some good videos that show different techniques and I recommend using one elbow and upper body pressure instead of using two hands. Once you get the beans, grind and dose dialed in you're in for a real treat. Highly recommended. For air travel, I paired it with a 1Zpresso J-Ultra hand grinder. The combination was awesome. But I've also found that grinding coffee in advance, if kept in an airtight coffee bag, will still yield outstanding results for several days, eliminating the the need for traveling with a grinder. It's important to watch how to videos and to get the grind set, however, once you do that, you can get great and even spectacular espresso

Wanted to like this amazing travel device
I really wanted to like this well-made little travel espresso maker. Unfortunately I will be returning it because it simply doesn't perform as advertised. At best, it is a very small french press style coffee maker. If you are not looking for espresso, but simply a good little travel coffee maker, this may make you very happy. It is compact, well-made, pretty intuitive, and cleans up easy. However, if you are looking for crema, or to pull a real shot or two of espresso, look elsewhere. This device while cute, cannot make a good cup of espresso. After repeated tries, watching YouTube videos, changing grinds, beans, water temperature and pre-soaking, as well as changing pressure on the plunger I have to say that I at least cannot dial it in after many tries. It also leaves a fair amount of water in the chamber (no "puck"). I already have a mini-french press, so another one is not what I was looking for.

beginner or travel espresso item
this cafflano kompresso is not bad, it does produce strong tasty espresso. and it is not a bad item for anyone who likes to have a espresso but doesn't want to spend hundreds on an electric machine. Its also usuful for camping. Quite Spartan. However, it is messy, its possible to be burned by the hot water while removing the plunger because hot water spills on your hands. And its messy because fine coffee grinds get spilt. the amount of effort and time it takes to prepare espresso for a couple or few friends don't work well with this item. better for a kitchen on the counter electric machine.

Great, portable, affordable
Really great (and portable!) way to make a decent espresso without too much hassle. Iโm still working on how to achieve crema, but thatโs me, not the device :-)

Incredible for the price point
I've had this for over a month and it has produced some of the best espresso I've ever had. A few notes: - You need to apply serious pressure to get this into actual espresso range (eg, 50+ lbs for 20 seconds) - Because of how uncontrolled things are, you're unlikely to be super consistent. If you're really into consistency, I'd suggest looking at a lever machine with a pressure gauge. - Personally, I like that this means I sometimes get different cups and the great ones feel special - For best results you'll need a great grinder. I got decent results from a Baratza Encore, but really started getting results that made me smile when I used a 1zpresso jx-pro grinder.

The packaging was removed
The espresso produced tastes worse than a hand-pressed espresso machine. When I received the item, its outer packaging had already been unpacked.

The best Espresso maker to exist
I love coffee esprecially espresso. I have many coffee brewers but kompresso is my favorite. Aeropress was my ultimate coffee gear till I got my first kompresso 3 years ago. I used it almost everyday till I lost the cup few days back. Got my second kompresso and it still makes perfect espresso with decent crema. I can't say I made the perfect espresso from the first try, but was able to make great espresso after few shots. It is super light and easy to carry. Love it!

Great espresso in a compact, lightweight and affordable produc
It makes great espresso in a compact, lightweight and affordable product. The quality seems also to be good and durable, it is easy to clean and doesn't take space. As many users say, it takes some time to extract the best espresso with beautiful crema, you need to find the right ratio of grinding size, coffee amount, etc but once you find it you will be extremely satisfied. Although , even when I couldn't make it with crema the taste was always good. Highly recommended!

Heard mixed reviews but I am satisfied given the price
Good product, does the job well! I like how the workflow of this is not too complicated and long as compared to flair neo. Just have to look out for the exact grind size and you will get rich shots which are full of crema. I feel this little handcrafted machine is underrated and can surprise you with decent enough 25-32ml shot.

Love it for daily use and travelling
I switch from my daily drip coffee to kompresso and itโs worth it! Itโs definitely not up to the level of real espresso yet! However, itโs much more accessible and save me money from buying espresso from store time to time!
