I have very thick hair (not complaining at all) but hair cuts can actually get both frequent and costly. With the only cause of need of frequent hair cuts being the thickness I was looking for a in between haircut ability to simply keep my haircuts manageable. This thinning tool is amazing. I am able to simply equally brush out the thickness throughout my hair and still maintain my exact previous cut. I keep my hair clean cut and this allows me to keep it thin and actually quite cool feeling as well. Anyone with very thick hair will tell you that summers can be pretty hot headed. Again, I am not complaining being a man of years I could easily be bald, which I would not mind being confident...but it's nice having a full head of hair. Anyway, For anyone looking for the ability to thin their hair between cuts and drag out the need for a hair cut biweekly to monthly...this tool can do that for you. I just started using when I got it, but I am thinking once a week if I use this I can bring my weekly or biweekly need for a hair cut to a single cut once a month and still maintain my style and look without any issues. Even after one use I can run my fingers through my hair and feel that it is snagging and thinning hair underneath, leaving it with that thick look but thin feel...As silly as this sounds I compare it to one of those dog brushes that will remove undercoat without cutting the top coat of a dogs fur coat. I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a great thinning tool. Also, it pulls far less than any thinning brush I have ever used. The double sided capability leave you with the ability to do thinner and thicker hair. The wide open side I use on much shorter areas and the closed or less open blade side I use for thicker hair to avoid taking out chunks and simply thinning as I brush it through. It's amazing and I am really happy I bought it. The blades are the old style barber blades that are double sided and changeable.

This little device is just what I needed. After two years of cutting my own hair, I always ended up with some random hairs or "cowlicks" from using scissors and clippers. I recommend you start slowly and get used to how it cuts on both sides, and then apply accordingly. My only complaint is that it did not come with a razor blade. No big deal, I just ordered a few from Amazon. Just seems like a small thing that would have earned a five star review instead of four.

I like using hair shapers and razor combs because of the different effects they can add. I use this razor comb mostly for texture and for thinning specific sections of hair.I wanted to get a razor comb that was made of metal but I was initially worried about getting this one because I saw someone say that the blades are not secure and can shift around. I couldn’t find many options for razor combs made out of metal so I gave this one a shot. I find that when you put in the razor blade in this, you have to align the blade so it is seated properly. Once I did that I couldn’t get the blade to budge. I tried shaking this pretty hard and I haven’t had any issues with blades coming loose. Your mileage may vary but that’s my experience with this so far.The blade guard teeth are fairly short so it feels more on the aggressive side than my other plastic razor comb with longer teeth. With the plastic razor comb with longer teeth, I can thin out hair so that the length is relatively even. With the hair shaper I feel it is good for shaping hair. This razor comb can thin out sections and it also can shape hair, but in my opinion I find this razor comb is good for adding texture.I like the weight and feel of this holder since it has a good heft to it and the rubber on the handle makes it feel grippy. Obviously this is just a holder so the types of blades that you choose will affect the cutting experience. I use double edge razors for shaving so I have a few different brands of razor blades and the brand definitely affects the feel of the haircut so you may want to experiment.Overall, I would get this again because this adds texture to hair that is different from other hair shapers or razor combs in my experience. For me, the specific size and shape allows for more precise work and I like that.

I really like this trimmer because it’s heavy and high quality, unlike the cheap plastic ones out there. The blade latch mechanism also makes it very easy to change blades. It’s a great trimmer for tidying the hairline around the neck and cutting body hair shorter.
