The Herbal Bath & Body Book: Create Custom Natural Products for Hair and Skin Paperback – September 2, 2014

Bought this book for my daughter so she could return the library copy she kept rechecking. It has great pictures and recipes for items we want to try to make, like soap and scrubs. We like to buy natural bath and body items at Lush, and now we want to make our own. This is the best book we have found for making natural hair and body products.

This book has been one of the greatest purchases I have made. It gives a lot of information about the crystals and their healing power. What I also love about the book is the pictures and they are in color.

The book itself is very pretty and has a nice, appealing, easy to follow layout. When it comes to the recipes, for the most part, they are pretty traditional recipes. If you've been studying herbalism for very long or are already familiar with making your own herbal products, you'll probably find this book a bit redundant and unnecessary (not adding much to the conversation, so to speak). If you're just beginning, though, you will find it a valuable resource. It does feature a couple of Rosemary Gladstar's classic recipes. =) As an aromatherapist, I found the safety information a bit lacking in the section about essential oils.

I love this book!! Its one of my go-tos for making my own body care products. The recipes are very easy to follow. I have recommended this book to many of my friends/

Excellent book for making natural bath and body products at home. Simple to follow instructions and a good variety of recipes.

This book isn't bad, but it isn't the best. It serves as a good introduction to making tinctures and using herbs for other useful products and gives information on herbs' properties, but the focus is only on 20 of the author's favorite herbs. I was personally hoping for more soap ideas in the book because I am a cold process soapmaker, so the book was a letdown in the regard. Otherwise, it's a nice book to have on hand.
