So Good!
I know next to nothing about Ethiopian food, but I decided to try this and Iโm glad I did. The basic recipe (onion, garlic, ginger, maybe jalapeรฑo if you like extra heat, some berbere, the shiro, and water) is very easy. The sauce thickens nicely as it simmers. One pound will make four meals for us (with couscous, bread and salad), so this purchase is very kind to my wallet. The order was shipped immediately. Iโll buy it again and Iโll try other offerings from Brundo. Itโs not often a product appeals to my taste buds, budget, and politics all at once.

I love Shiro, but this product has a sour taste that differs from the traditional Ethiopian Shiro Iโm accustomed to. It might appeal to some, but it wasnโt to my preference.

This Shiro was beyond my expectations. It's exactly the shiro my grandmother used to make for us.

My Ethiopian meal is now complete.
SHIRO is on of my favorite dishes when I have Ethiopian food. This is one of the easiest sides to make and my meal felt complete eating this with the injera, over and over... and over again. You can add your aromatics (onions, garlic and maybe tomatoes if you want) before mixing in the SHIRO. The flavor is good on its own or you can add some spice to it also. Many recipe suggestions on YouTube but this mix is a good foundation.

We purchased this Shiro because our usual supply from Ethiopia got interrupted. We were very pleased with the quality of this product. This Shiro has great aroma and flavor, and we highly recommend it.
