You can devise an attachment to a shoulder strap of your pack using cord locks and shock cord. Or you can purchase one of our hands free kits which gives you all the parts you need to do the same. Q: I just received this umbrella. It appears fairly fragile to me. Would this umbrella survive a two-week hike in rather heavy winds?

It is a little fragile and some of feedback I saw was that it did not do great if really windy, I used mine three times in heavy rain, some wind, and it performed well, but never heavy wind. I was glad to have it though when needed And it tucked nicely into my backpack!

7.1 oz. The features list will be updated this afternoon.

Q: Is this the one with the carbon shaft?

No. The Silver Shadow Mini does not have a carbon fiber shaft. We do sell our Silver Shadow Carbon on Amazon and a quick search there will get you right to it.
