How tall is this lamp

about a foot tall, incredibly hard to assemble, the panels just hang out my wall now, not as a lamp.

What color is the wood is it a dark brown or black because I would like a dark brown

It is more like black than brown. Can't tell if it has a brown component in it. I like the light a lot for casting a glow at night. More for atmosphere than for illumination.
