Finally, a safe rodent solution!
A few miles away from us timber was harvested. This apparently caused a massive relocation of approximately 100 rats to our property. Almost overnight our small farm was inundated with the biggest rats I’ve ever seen. The small ones are the length of my hand, the bigger ones made me understand why rats have been horror fodder. These massive rats even ate metal cans,160 feet of water lines, and attacked living animals for no reason. I got this bucket after the bag, because it seemed to be working. I also got bait stations. I made sure to remove any extra food sources I could. The rats took to this bait like a buffet bar. I did have to put a few loose discs around to tempt them into the bait stations, but it was very quick. Three days later, dead rats were everywhere. I also did not have to worry about the farm cats, or any of our aerial predators passing if they ate one. It’s totally safe and amazingly effective. There’s no smell from the bait, and shockingly little odor from the unalived rodents. It also took out a few mice. I could only find one rat hole, so the bait station did the work. For the bold rats that snuck into my laundry area, I did have to add about 6 kibbles into the bait box, but that was all it took. They ate those and then the bait with gusto. This has cost me close to $400 in damages, but this bait saved the day, and the farm. I plan to never be out of this again. It’s amazing and well worth the investment. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

Dosent work.
The product did not work at all. They did not take one nibble of the product. I tried the disc and the pellets. . Sent an email to ratx and have not received a response yet.

Kills the vermin, spares the pets, the livestock, and the wildlife
When they gutted the hoarder’s house across the road for renovation last winter, we inherited an entire colony of rats. Our small family farm already feels the pressure of feed price increases— I resent paying for quality nutrition that gets stolen by uninvited spreaders of disease. I will not risk killing our dog/chickens/ducks (nor do I want to be responsible for dead raptors, or for killing that little feral calico who comes to the barn at night to hunt) and that is a very real possibility when poisoned rodents get eaten by other animals, and/or poison is set out around a farm. This stuff is the only thing I could find which cannot hurt any “innocent bystander” animals AND it has proven to be effective! I followed the advice of other reviewers; I made little individual snack-size ziplocks with a little chicken scratch and 3-4 discs of poison in each, and I tucked them into the various rat tunnels around our barn. We are on our second tub of the Rat-X, and into our second month of treatment, but there is steady progress being made on what was a staggering population. Even though we store all our feed inside metal trash cans, it is still a constant struggle to prevent the rats from raiding poultry feeders or exploiting any sheep feed spilled by hungry, jostling sheep. There are no concrete floors in our barn, half our winter hay delivery is already stacked in the aisle, and there will always be a daily influx of food…it’s an extremely daunting situation for pest control! This stuff has really worked for us, in spite of those obstacles, and I could not be happier. Sure, I wish it worked instantaneously, but it’s SAFE for everyone I want to keep alive, and that is of vital concern here!!

Often can't get them to eat it but when they do...
Relied on this product multiple times with mixed results. Here is what I learned- if there is food available in the smallest amount, like say on a homestead or farm with livestock, the rats won't bother touching this. There seems to be no attractant. Getting them to take the bait depends on human adaptation and a bit of trickery. Coupled with conntraceptol (powder) the Rat X is highly effective. The conntraceptol has a pheromone mimicker in it so it works as an attractant. I mix up their "feed", which is game bird crumble, with the conntraceptol birth control. I underfeed them and throw the Rat X discs on top. The feeder station must be water tight. The tiniest bit of hydration means you got to refresh the Rat X. It takes 5+ days to kill. In extreme heat and dry weather conditions, it takes less.

Discs look degraded and old. Crumble too easily.
I keep buying these in hopes that they will work eventually. Each time I buy these buckets of bait disc they come crumbled and can’t be used in the RatX bait traps that are made specifically for these discs. These discs look like they are old and are so fragile that they crumble when you grab them out to fill the stations. They used to be nice and compressed and almost pinkish in color. I have no choice but to use this brand as I will not be the one that puts out harmful poison that will harm our owls, hawks, and neighborhood pets. The rats are not going for these and that could be that they have lost their smell as they degrade. Typically these are easy to use and they do work when they actually eat it. Remove all food sources so this is the only option they have.

Great product
Love it for rat control, I grow a lot of fruit trees, and this keeps them away from getting into the house

This works if used properly
I moved into this property about a 2 month ago. Tenants was evicted and I inherited a terrible rat problem. Not mice rats! They left so much garbage. There are 3 nice storage buildings but they were full of garbage. Great rat nests. Inside the buildings and garbage all around. There was rats in my attic and crawl space. Rat poison was put out for weeks before I moved in. I have dogs so I couldn’t use a poison that they could get. I keep everything spotlessly clean no food crumbs left laying around and started cleaning out the buildings. Put bait boxes with this ratx in attic , crawl space, all three buildings and places in the house hidden so the dogs could not get them. . Cut all flowers and bushes away from house. Mopped floors often and bleached everything. Slowly started seeing less rat crap. This stuff does work. I’m still keeping this out . I did also see dead squirrels in the yard. Which I also thought I had squirrels in the attic. So I wasn’t unhappy about the dead squirrels

Works Well Poor Quality In Bucket
I've used RatX in the past with good results. So much depends on the placement of the bait to get the rats to eat it. This product is actually what a rat exterminator we had come out used. My problem with this bucket is that it looks like it got wet. The "donuts" were all crumbling. They broke apart when trying to handle them and there was a lot that were nothing but unusable crumbs. This is kind of a lot of money to pay for something where almost half the product is unusable as it's supposed to be. I've gotten it in the smaller pouch in the past, so I know what it's suppose to be like. I can't recommend getting this bucket. I don't know if it's this particular seller that doesn't take care of their inventory or if this type of packaging just isn't moisture proof? The one pouch I had gotten sat open for months in our laundry area with Texas humidity and they never absorbed enough moisture from the air to make them crumble like these in the bucket did. I wish I knew where the problem lies. I'd like to get more but don't want to spend this much money that will actually cost twice as much because half of it is junk.
