Excellent!
I had bought a Stanley knife from Amazon a few weeks back and the button to push the blade back and forward fell off. So thought I’d buy a different make. Sent for this Presch as I was laying vinyl in the bathroom and was desperate to get it cut and finished off. Ordered 4 items and when the package arrived the tear strip was torn back and this item was missing. The item I was desperate to get. Anyway got onto Amazon and ordered another after telling them what had happened. I was very quickly refunded and ordered another that came next day. It’s an excellent tool. So easy to change the blade just open and set it in place then close. It folds as well making it extra safe you just push down the silver strip that runs along the back where the sort of half moon shape is and that’s it folded. This is the best one of these I’ve ever used. It’s very strong and robust so think it will outlast me without any problems. I love the colour of it too a metallic red/orange. I got a cassette of 10 extra blades too. Also has a clip to clip onto a belt or whatever. Great for the price. Made in Germany I think and worth every penny so far. Buy it!

Quality for the smaller hand
Nice quality folding knife. It was actually a smaller than I imagined, fitting a smaller hand better. It's made entirely of aluminium and stainless steel, which surprised me because the picture rather looked like the handle was some sort of nylon material. The blade locking mechanism is excellent and holds the blade very firmly, so it strikes me as pretty odd that there is a bit of side to side wobble in the main pivot. Nothing to worry about, but it's there. Overall the knife feels compact, heavy and very solid. The supplied pack of blades is handy if you don't have any others lying around and seem of a reasonable quality. All in all it's a very nice knife and being foldable I won't have to worry about stabbing myself any more! Of course one word of warning, because it's a locking knife it's illegal to carry it around in public without "good reason" so if you are a DIY'er you should leave it at home when you pop out to get DIY supplies.

Nice, general purpose utility knife
The knife feels very solid and is easy to open and close. It did take me a while to work out how to change the blade.I would suggest that you take the time to clean and oil the knife before first use as this make the knife much easier to use. The blades do rattle a little in the knife but that is common with this type of utility knife.I bought this for a friend who was moving house and using a bread knife to cut up boxes. This knife was, unsurprisingly, a much better option. This is not a £1000 super duper knife fanatics knife, it is what is is and does the job very well.

Very sturdy but better designs are available
This is a very sturdy, rather old-fashioned and idiosyncratic utility knife, which would have been a good buy fifteen years ago. Now it has been superseded by designs like the Stanley FatMax range, which have a number of advantages. Letting this tool down are:-- blades are not retractable, you can't slide them back into the handle. You have to fold the whole knife.-- folding the knife requires two hands.-- there is no storage area in the knife for spare blades -- or used ones. You will have to keep spare blades handy while working, and find somewhere to get rid of blunt ones.-- changing the blades is a really clumsy process, with a chance of cutting yourself as you fiddle with stiff and ill-fitting plates. This is probably the worst feature of the knife. I am having to hammer the retaining plate shut each time. All these features are handled much better on the Stanley tools -- which are also a good bit cheaper. All that said, this is an attractive and solid tool, suited to hard work.

Fantastic knife
I've owned this knife for around 3 or 4 years now. Have had multiple before that and this one has outlasted every single one I've had previously. It's made very well imo, hasn't broken or snapped anywhere important, always open and closes smoothly and doesn't rattle/have anything loose. The only thing that fell off was the part your thumb rests in. The rubber fell out, then the actual screw just came out after I tightened it 3 or 4 times. Other than that, it's been very well used and not let me down once. Putting new blades in is a tight fit when closing, but that's not a bad thing. A blade has never fell out due to the clasp opening on me which is great aswell. Highly recommend this knife for sure.

Presch Utility Knife
This is the best utility knife I have owned I've been a carpenter all my adult life and am 56 so I've owned a few. The knife is lightweight yet strong and well made it features a easy blade change and folds away in itself for safety after use. It also features a thumb push on the end of the knife so you can apply pressure when cutting. Also it is a easy to grip and is a bright colour this is good as you can see it when looking for it in your tool box. Its as if they have thought of everything I would defenetly recommend this product.

Superb utility knife.
I deleted my first review as i wrongly said the spare blades supplied are stored inside the knife. They are in fact stored in the supplied small clear plastic box.A clever design, this knife is a far better tool than the familiar Stanley Knife. Blades can be quickly & securely replaced, the blade locks well into position & is easy to unlock & close. A strong & sturdy build makes this attractive knife a must have in your tool kit.Recommended.
