Beautiful & Quiet!
This fan is absolutely beautiful. The wood blades are real and the body is a nice brushed brass finish. The fan was installed by a pro, so I can't comment on how easy it was but it did not take him long. However, I did read through the instructions and they are very well laid out and easy to follow. If you've installed a ceiling fan before, this won't be an issue. The fan does come with a wall switch since it is not a remote function fan, but we chose to use our Lutron Maestro fan/light control and it works just fine. The light kit is optional and you can replace it with the included cap, but the light is actually quite nice. It is a soft temperature at 3000k and is probably the equivalent of a 60-75 watt bulb. It wouldn't be great as the only light source in your room, but it gives off enough light for me. The best part about the fan is that it is completely silent at all speeds. There is no motor hum or noise or anything and that was most important. This is not a cheap fan and definitely on the higher end of the price spectrum, but Kichler is a long standing brand and their products are well made. This is no exception and I highly recommend it.

Best built new fans
The old hunter classic fans are the most reliable fans ever. However, they all look the same. I have 2 Kichler fans, they look good, appear to be well made (i.e. weight wise), are quiet, and move an appreciable amount of air. In terms of reliability, after 3 years of nearly continuous use I have had no issues.

Controlled by Neighbors Remotes
While this is a highly attractive fan that functions quietly, it has a fatal flaw that renders it not worth the money. It works by remote only, it is not hard wired, though the remote must be installed into a wall switch. This isnโt necessarily bad, unless the wall switch is somewhat nearby another remote on the same frequency. In this case, you may find the function of your fan will be turned over to the owner(s) of the other nearby remote(s). This means whenever your neighbors are changing channels on their TV, your fan may turn on, or off. In the middle of the night, your light may turn on while you are sleeping, you may get out of bed to turn it off at the wall switch, only to have it immediately turned back on as soon as you get back into bed. Also please know that Kichler will not answer your emails about the problem noted above when you reach out to them. Therefore you cannot resolve it. Overall the fan looks great and operates quietly, though I would not pay the $489 price tag again and I would not advise that anyone else does either. Not worth it!!

Okay, but pricey
There is no remote control... there is a wall panel. It's not worth the price.

Stay Away From Kichler!!!
I am a Handyman and one of my customers had 2 of these fans installed by an electrician. Several months later, one of the fans dropped out of the ceiling bracket and was hanging by the wires! I took the fan down and discovered that the hanger ball on the fan was too small for the ceiling bracket - apparently the electrician rigged it so he could finish the job and get paid. Evidently, when these fans came out of the factory, one of them had a wrong part. I called Kichler Customer Support and spoke to Jessica. I explained the problem and she said she would send me the parts I needed. Well.... Jessica wrote the address down wrong - so it took more phone calls and another 2 weeks to get the package. When I opened the box, I immediately knew that she sent the wrong parts! More phone calls... I asked Jessica why she sent a light kit when I didn't ask for one, and she replied, "Just in case you needed it." I called back and spoke to a supervisor who asked for the part numbers off the fan, so I had to drive back to my customers house... After more phone calls and emails with the supervisor, she told me there had been several revisions to that fan and they didn't have the parts I needed. She said the only solution was to replace the entire ceiling mount assembly on both fans, if I wanted them to match. Needless to say, my customer wasn't happy about having to fork out money to have these brand new fans reinstalled with the correct parts. I have been doing handyman work for 30 years and never had an experience like this with a manufacturer. I lost track of all the phone calls, emails, and trips to my customers house! It seems that Kichler's customer service and quality control is seriously lacking!

LED light eye comfort.
The LED light attachment is attractive, but when you look directly at the light or you are scanning the room you will notice stuttering and post flash of lights when you blink your eyes. It's the old technology LED's. It's not very comfortable on the eyes. Hard to explain.
