I have been coaching football (soccer) using small sided games for well over 10 of my 20 plus years coaching. This book has really revised my thinking. I feel I’ll be a better coach for reading it.

The guided discovery approach from sports pedagogy (Mosston 1980) is explained on the basis of the Contextual Interference Approach (Battig 1966) with the terminology of systems dynamics (Kelso 1995). Mainly, the normally used interventions are structured according to a suggestion of (Newell 1986). In terms of Kuhns (1968) criteria for good science the broader scope and fruitfulness is missing.
