Are these real akg headphones?

Nah, fam.  Steer FAR clear.  You'd be better off buying from a corner shop than here as these are NOT real AKGs.

I've reported them to Amazon and Amazon has stated that they'll be investigating into them further.  As a bit of a background, I was in a relationship with a DJ for about 5 years and often helped with setups for gigs (both large -2k people- and small -20ish people-).  A large portion of their equipment was AKG (sans the monitors and speakers) because AKG's quality is always top-notch.  I even bought the person a pair of professional headphones as a gift for Christmas one year that cost about £175, something they'd been eyeing for about 4 months.  I know AKG's quality.  These just aren't AKG, and AKG really should go after these sellers for selling dupes of their product, making their quality look like it's declined (it hasn't, btw).

The reason I bought these was because, on a bus ride home, I somehow bent the male aux input of the ones that came with my Samsung Note 9 and lost sound in the left earpiece.  They were amazing earphones, so I wanted to replace them with the same because they lasted me ages, they were incredible with glorious highs, mids, and lows, and you can always depend on AKG's quality.  These do NOT have that.  The mids and highs are muffled.  The best way to explain it is if someone were trying to listen to someone talking through a thick, wooden door.  It's bad enough that I just unplugged them and gave up listening on my bus ride and walk to work.  They're THAT bad.

The build quality, itself, is poor, as well.  The real ones have grey cables and a shine to the AKG logo.  I thought maybe they had just made some changes to the overall look of the product, but, nope, it's just poorer quality because these are not the real product.  As these were a bit older and wired, I figured the price had gone down.  There were a lot of people who'd bought them, as well.  Sadly, from the last few comments, you can see that these MAY have been genuine at some point, but they definitely aren't, now.

Amazon, I appreciate y'all looking into these, but there must be some sort of consistent vetting for products sold on your site that claim to be genuine items, right?

TL;DR:  Don't get these, friends.  They are DEFINITELY not real AKGs.

No they're not. You can only buy original AKG earphones from a Samsung support shop. They sell them for £29.99.

Hi, they do have a mic although I don't use it so not sure of the quality.
