Great quality at a great price
We ordered these trees as a second row of a windbreak/security screen. At $4/tree, even if they don’t make it, it’s worth the money when Thuja are easily 4x that at a store. But, our trees arrived quickly, well packaged, and very healthy. We didn’t plant the trees for weeks and they still looked great in their nursery pots. I highly recommend these as an inexpensive but quality choice.

All Good !
I have a ton of deer and even though Green Giants are normally deer resistant, when you have 50-60 deer take a "nibble" and decide they don't like them, they can still do damage when the plants are small. I've ordered 2x (20 Plants) and all plants were over 12" and were healthy. I did plant 10 outside immediately and fenced them in to protect from deer. Even the deer that don't try to "taste them" will usually trample them so you may consider some deer fencing if you are in an area with a lot of deer. They are hearty and can take a bit of a beating, but if animals walk over top of them long enough, they will die. TIP: If you need to, you can remove plants from the container they come in and re-plant in 1 gallon pots. (I mix my local soil with top soil from the local store). I put them on my sunny 2nd story deck away from deer, They have all doubled in size and are doing well. Water every 2-3 days. I'll let these get a bit larger then re-plant them (maybe next year). I'll bring them into my sunroom during the Winter (I keep it at 45-50 degrees). TIP 2. The longer they are in the ground BEFORE first frost the better. 3 months is usually ok , but the longer the better. I like to get them into the ground after the last frost. (In PA, I play it safe and normally wait until Mid April or even May. That gives 6-7 months or so before the really cold weather comes. Getting them in early as possible lets them get established before it gets "blistering hot" too (mid July or August here). TIP 3. Duh..... make sure you don't forget to water. You don't need to "saturate the crap" out of them, but for the first month I water every 2 days (unless rain is in the forecast - which is why April / May is a big help). After that I check them every 3 days and normally "hit them with the water to keep the soil moist. Mulch around the base appx 6" helps keep the soil from drying out. *** You MAY (in some areas and with some Green Giants) see some "browning" or Gold color in the Winter (and if you are not watering enough when first planted). The color is normal. Don't worry, they'll green up in Spring. (Note: ORANGE color, Dried TAN color , and flat foliage is not good. Normally foliage that is green / gold or even a bit brownish is fine but make sure the foliage looks "plump". As they dry out the foliage looks like you've pressed it or flattened it. If you catch this early, you can save the plant. Once they establish after the first year, you can see 3 feet of growth per year depending on sun etc. Hope this helps.

Excellent trees!
Very impressed with these trees! I bought and planted 10 of them a year and 4 months ago. The saplings all came in great shape in a secure and moist container. Perfect shipping and handling! I planted them in a row about 5 feet apart. The first four trees in the row get sun all day long, the middle 4 get sun between 6 - 10 hours a day, and the last two get 3 - 5 hours a day. The first 6 months I watered the trees about every other day, unless it rained. I could easily tell if I wasn't watering enough by some branches turning brown during the hot days. This year, I have watered them only during hot stretches with no rain. There has been very little upkeep besides this minimal watering and the mulching around them at the beginning of the season. The trees that get sun all day have grown from the 8 inch sapling to a three foot tall tree with another foot or so shoot coming out the top. This gives the trees a total growth of about 3 and a half feet in the first 16 months. I have no doubt they will be five feet tall early next spring. The trees in the middle that get 6 - 10 hours of sun a day range from two to three feet tall with a shoot just starting to come out of the top on two of them, maybe 5 - 8 inches long. The difference in size based on the amount of sun is very apparent. The last two trees that get 3 - 5 hours of sun a day are doing fine, are green and strong, but have only grown to about 20 inches tall with no shoot. I plan on cutting down some foliage around them to maximize their time in the sun. I give these trees 5 stars and the seller 5 stars. They have definitely performed amazing! I would much rather have spent ~$35 on ten of these saplings and taken care of them for the past year than spend ~$600 to plant trees of the size they are today. Excellent product, excellent value! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to spend a little time to grow some beautiful trees!

Excited to See These Grow!
I was impressed with how quickly these were shipped to us. Upon opening, The, tips of the leaves at the top of the plant were slightly brown, and the soil in the container was a little bit dry. We were initially worried but decided to go ahead and plant them. Once we had them in the ground, they started to look a lot better. These are pretty shrubs, and I am excited to see how well they grow.
