If you want a grandmother, you can borrow one here, also she's a wisewoman who would be entering your life. Get yourself ready for a special and unique book. I am so glad someone wrote this book and recorded her voice, who she was, so interesting and extraordinary, down to earth and elevated spiritually at the same time. She is a great storyteller, a great role model for any storyteller, writer, artist or woman, or person for that matter. She had a desire to pass on her wisdom and we are blessed by it. The stories are funny and moving, and even shocking in places. A slice of life you would not find just anywhere.

fantastic book!!! almost like sitting with an old person!!! all our old people are gone. few had their stories told.......you can hear her when you read this book. i love when the person who writes the book does not change the way she spoke. maybe not for everyone??? but.....i am sure village people will love to hear her words.

Just started reading this, so far the introduction was long and scholarly. Once you get passed it the stories are informative and educational.

I have not finished the book yet but I can say that it is an authentic narrative interwoven with the realities of family lives in a particular indigenous context. I am glad I found this book. This book's methodology is a reference to "participant observation" Ethnography precisely performed.
